Hello, dolls!!:) I can’t believe that I am back in MNL!! Aaaah it still feels surreal that I am in my pink room now blogging!! 🙂 The past 2 days has been lovely and I am so grateful for warmth welcome that I received from everyone especially my family. It is so nice to wake up in the morning and have breakfast with my parents again, have my sister as a roommate, and just be in the presence of my family — it almost feels like I never left.
It’s a blessing to have 2 places that I can call home. Last year, I thought I couldn’t let go of the idea of not calling Manila my only home, I felt like if I do so I will spend my life fighting time just to be with my family or it will make my chances of going home slim — and yes, I do not take family matters lightly. But with the help of A, his family, and our friends, I realized that I do not have to let go of MNL just so I can call Baltimore my home too. Some people, like me, are just fortunate to be blessed with an amazing life at the other side of the world, miles and miles away from home..
I know I have not posted enough “B-more updates” since February. Not enough cause there is a handful of amazing things that happened since I returned to my second home. So here is one, some of the things that helped/helps me love Baltimore everyday.
What I have on my vanity.
Family picture, a photo of my Dad and I when I was only n months old, cute little bear from my jeje-brother, the heart pen that my sister gave me…
…personalized key chain from my brother Remo, and an Eiffel tower stand up pin from my sissy. <3
Having these on my vanity makes me feel like they are not too far away from me. It reminds me of how blessed I am to have a family that is so understanding and supportive.
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 So I thought of posting an entry before I leave for MNL, cause I know I will be taking tons of pictures back home — OMG I can’t wait to be with my family again I can’t hide my excitement!!!! Here’s the second part of our 3rd day in Hong Kong, another food adventure entry that makes me miss Hong Kong — and more excited about our upcoming trip! I know this is almost a year late, but it still feels like it was only yesterday when A and I discovered a lot of amazing food spots in Hong Kong.
And in case you haven’t read these entries yet, click the links below to have a glimpse of how our first 3 days in HK went.
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 I can’t believe that I am VERY close to seeing my family again!! In less than a week I will be flying back to MNL (OMG!!) I can’t hide my excitement! My family and I planned so much for my homecoming and I must say, there will be a lot of plane rides for A and I for our upcoming 3 week vacation. It’s pretty similar to what happened last year when A came to the Philippines to visit me — a lot of cooking, eating, and traveling. Maybe I waited a little bit too long to post our Hong Kong trip, or maybe not. Its nice to look back and remember all the things that we did during our week long adventure at a place that he’s been wanting to visit since…ever.
Hong Kong has always been a shopping trip for me until A and I went. We did so many different things that I wouldn’t normally put in my itinerary.
One of which is to take an hour and a half shuttle ride going to Repulse Bay and see a different side of Hong Kong..
Hello, dolls!! 🙂 I can’t believe that I will be home in less than 2 weeks!!! Before I left to go back here in Baltimore, I had decided that I will try to cook everyday. I know there will be some factors that will hinder me from doing this, so I added the word “try” — I have a tendency of over beating myself when it comes to cooking so I had to play it a bit safe for my sanity. So I DID, I did cook everyday for the month of February, I DID IT!
One of the things that I always do before cooking something at home is to check what we have available.
It’s always fun exciting for me to come up with something on the spot and I often see it as a “fun self challenge”.
My Dad and I were hanging out on our rooftop one day, and I decided to whip up something quick for him for his afternoon snack — Filipinos eat 5 meals a day so yeaaap.
All of these ingredients that I have on my board are in our fridge.I love impressing my Dad with delish left over meals.
Before you move on, please answer the poll above 🙂
10.02.2013: Hop on Hop Off
Hello, dolls!! 🙂 Here is the last part of our second day in Hong Kong. This entry is perfect for foodies like A and I. We had a long list of restaurants that we wanted to visit prior to our Hong Kong trip so we made sure that we would try and visit at least 2 each day. A and I have traveled to different places during our first year together, though this was the first time we went to another country, we’ve made sure that our strategy will stay the same — keep our eyes open for beautiful things that we might see while on our way to the restaurant that we want to go to.

We couldn’t wait to see what awaits us at the other side!! 🙂
Big Bus Tours played a huge part during our trip. I don;t think we would be able to go to all the places we’ve been to during the day without BBB. The first time we went on a tour with Big Bus Tours was in Philadelphia with my teacher. I remember reading on their brochure that they operate in different countries as well so I Googled it and voila…. they have BBB in Hong Kong! 🙂 Yay Continue reading “Hong Kong Diary: Island Food Adventures”→
Hello, dolls! 🙂 Can you believe it’s already AUGUST?? OMG where did time go? July was too awesome it was so hard for me to see it go, though I know August is going to be as amazing (or even more). So this is the second part of our second day in Hong Kong (If you haven’t read it yet, click this! http://riannagalvez.wordpress.com/2014/07/29/hong-kong-and-us/#more-8303 ) We’ve decided to go here first after seeing it on our way back from our sumptuous dinner the night before. We had no idea about this beautiful place before until that night, so what are the odds of passing by 1881 Heritage and seeing its amazing facade on an unexpected night! I am so glad we had our eyes open during the entire trip 🙂
