07.28.14: Long Beach Island
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 Today is another snowy winter day and to warm me up, I am going to talk about summer. Summer as you all know, is the busiest season of the year. It is close to impossible to get a decent off from work. It makes me miss school and how I know I can get the whole summer off to spend with family and look forward to all our travels/getaways. A and I won’t let our summer to be just spent for work, we planned to go to the beach (even if its just once) and it happened! We were so happy that we were able to go to the beach with our family here.
New Jersey and New York comes to mind when I think about summer here in the US.
New Jersey for food and family, New York for food.
birds…obvs.
Don’t you feel like January is just flying by? Usually I will be having this feeling like I do not want it to end yet, but honestly as of now I am a bit excited because I know I am just one snow day away from the warmth of spring!! (and ugh my wedding!)
beach footwear
The Mother In Law lent me her beautiful beach hat
My view….
A and the girls playing in the sand.
colors
They enjoyed looking for sand crabs…
…while I tried my best to hide from the sun because I did not want to get dark.. haha
Season pass
We like Long Beach Island because it is well maintained and not too crowded. It’s a family destination.
With my skinny dude.
Cause summer is not complete with ice cream.
Can I just have this butterfinger blizzard ice cream again???? SOOO GOOD!
Breakfast: Feta Omelette, Sausage, Fruits, Tea and Bread

For dinner, we went to our ultimate favorite Chinese restaurant in New Jersey.
Clams in Oyster Sauce
Shredded Pork Chow Mein
Our little Chinese feast for 9. I guess we should probably start saying “we would like to order the usual” when we go to Asian Court. We got our favorites to share with everyone and tried new dishes that made me remember the good Chinese restaurants that we have in Manila.
Beef Pan Fried Noodles ; Chicken with Broccoli ; Beef with Chinese Broccoli ; Fried Lobsters
Fried Lobsters ; Salt and Pepper Squid ; Yang Chow Fried Rice ; Mu Shu Pork
This was sooooo good!! aaah reminded me of peking duck and all the good peking duck dinners that we had.

After dinner we went to Wildwood. It was a very eventful day as you can see.
We walked the boardwalk and mannn it was very crowded! There were a lot of tourists from Canada (we saw a good number of cars from Quebec!)
Tried Kohr Brothers for the first time.
Cause when I think about the boardwalk I think about food. haha
We tried the peanut butter and chocolate…aaaah soo good! My second ice cream of the day….I felt guilty the day after, of course!
Fried oreos! YES!
Aloha is a cute tiki themed store that sells healthy drinks and snacks! They have chia, berries, and other healthy ingredients that you can add to your smoothie or fruit bowls.
I got a berry smoothie with coconut milk, banana, and chia seeds.
What a sweet end to our boardwalk adventure.

The day after was another fun day for us. We started our day with a delicious breakfast (home fries and fruits! – my fave).
Did some arts and crafts with the girls. Had pizza for lunch, and played the game of life ( which I totally love now!)
Blueberry muffins to snack on… yesss
It’s crabbing season.
Freshly caught crabs in the steamer for dinner!
Erica and Julia loves arts so I brought them these DIY hand puppets from Manila. It was more challenging that we thought because it took us a while to finish this.
To end our awesome weekend in New Jersey, A cooked dinner for all of us!
Look at this big platter of shrimp and crab spaghetti in tomato sauce!!!!
..and Julia looking so cute of course.
