Hello, dolls! Hello, work! sigh x100 This month was a whirlwind of emotions. We started September with gratitude and happiness as we celebrated Daddy’s birthday and baby A’s baptism. Going back to work full time was pretty overwhelming for me as a new Mom, I have to take a “break” for milk time very 2 hours — if I am lucky because duuh who am I kidding? Working in the kitchen is pretty demanding which ends up to me postponing milk time to another hour or two (which I really hate!). Anyway, Daddy is now back in the Philippines and my sister is leaving in less than 2 weeks — I AM SO NOT EXCITED ABOUT THIS. The energy here at home is not going to be the same when everyone is back home again.
September is going to end with lots and lots of rain…which makes me want to stay home and cuddle with my boy…baby A. Did I mention it’s Fall already? Yeap..my second favorite season is finally here!!! I sometimes think about how life was when it was just A and I. I always end up looking at our “date night photos” and reminisce about the good food and awesome Mondays that we’ve had.
Date night at Maggie’s Farm.
…and yeap, this happened almost 2 years ago!
Maggie’s Farm is a farm to table restaurant. The restaurant has a rustic art deco vibe. Perfect for an adventurous and causal kind of date night.
MF’s cool looking bar!
When your fiance takes a picture of you and you are feeling sick….
…but you smile anyway because it’s a freaking picture. haha
4 appetizers to start our 3 course dinner

farmstead cheeses with fruit compote and candied nuts

Both steamed buns were good (of course!)

I got my love of cornbread from my Mom
I ordered the black bean burger. I love eating healthy, and no I wan’t trying to be vegetarian or something but I LOVE black beans! So yeah, I ordered myself a burger…black bean burger with runny egg. YUM
A’s Fish and Chips

A said it was a great version of a classic.

One of the best desserts we’ve had!! A and I almost fought over the last bite! hahaha
We are so lucky that we were able to go to Maggie’s Farm before the original Chef left. We had an amazing night!
Cold winter night
Sunday brunch at City Cafe after church with the family
I wanted our wedding favors to represent A and I. Each item had a meaning, even the packaging. So one of the things that we put in our wedding favor box are Mouth Party Caramels.
We first tried Mouth Party caramels at Emporiyum. We fell in love instantly! It’s a company based here in Baltimore so it was perfect for out wedding favor.
We went to their headquarters since we ordered almost 400 caramels. Also, I wanted to be hands on about everything so yeah haha
Zoe of Mouth Party prepared a tasting plate for us.
Everything was good of course.
It was such a nice experience to be at the Mouth Party Caramel head quarters. To have a glimpse of their production and aaah smell caramels for an hour.
Zoe surprised us by sending free caramels in the mail! What a company!!! Super friendlyyyy!
Special flavors from their Taste Test in January.
Zoe told us that they usually do monthly “taste tests”. They come up with special flavors that they could sell during the season.
A and I ended up getting sea salt and lemon & rosemary caramels for our wedding favors.
I ave to admit, I tend to get lazy during winter. The cold weather makes me want to move like a sloth.
Dressing up is no exception to that. I always find myself grabbing a pair of leggings, some comfy dress or skirt, and thick scarf that I could wrap around my neck.
Cuddle weather is finally here….
