Hello, dolls!! Hello, February! <3 Before I start my entry…let me just say how This Is Us (a remarkable US TV show) has been crushing my soul with every episode. I spent the day after the “Superbowl” episode looking at IG stories so I could spoil it for myself. YUP! I know I wouldn’t be able to handle it so I wanted to prepare myself. But just like everyone else that bawled their eyes out, Jack Pearson stole my heart and left it bleeding!! I have yet to watch the episode last night, and I am not sure if I am ready for another heavy episode! Lucky for me, I was able to convince A to hold my hand as I watch Jack be the best husband and Dad that he is when I watched episode 14 of season 2 aka Superbowl (AKA THE SADDEST EPISODE ON TV EVER!!! next to McDreamy’s of course).
Okay..so now that my “This Is Us” thoughts are out, let me move on to my real topic. I know we are still a couple of months away from summer, but it’s never too early to plan for it. One of the things that I love to do is blueberry picking.
When my sister lived here for over a year, I made sure that our Mondays will be filled with adventures. One of my favorite trips with her was when we went blueberry and cherry picking.
My friends know that anything that involves stepping on grass is something that I am not fond of. BUT if it’s food related, I would definitely give it a go! Like fruit picking or winery tours! lol
It was A who suggested visiting a farm. Lucky for me, all I had to think about was my outfit 😛
He found a farm in Pennsylvania (an hour away from Baltimore County) that offer fruit picking.
Tip: Not all farms do this so it’s nice to do your research.Make sure you check the time since most of them start early. Farms are also good about posting when crops are really good or if they are skipping a week because they have to wait for them to grow.
Mondays are dress-up days too! Who said you can’t look good while picking blueberries?:P
My patient man who is always willing to go on adventures with me…every week!
oh hey there, beautiful!
A’s advantage: long arms! Since there were people who went blueberry picking before us, most of the blueberries in front were gone. Good thing A was with us because he was able to reach the back and higher section of the bushes! lol
Blueberries for jam and delicious cobbler!
I can’t wait to take baby A this year!! They have an area for “kids” — the bushes are shorter. He will be 2 years old by then so I know we will have tons of fun!
Beautiful view at Shaw’s Orchard while blueberry picking. What a treat!
2016 Trio <3
Blueberry picking is definitely a FUN workout! Lots of walking and stretching the body.
Accumulating a pound of juicy blueberries is not easy. Since blueberries are small, it took us a while to get our desired amount for our cobbler and jam.
A lectured us for picking “small” blueberries. He only wanted the big ones!! lol
“Fruit of Labor”
I could just imagine baby A’s face when he sees this! His cute voice saying “barn” just like what he does when he sees his toy <3
We did not know that they also have cherries!! So of course, we took the opportunity to pick some to take home.
Thought about my Dad the whole time and wished he was with us.
Chellas as a “cool watermelon” and me as a “blueberry” LOL!
Fresh produce makes me happy!!! I wish I could just go to Shaw’s whenever we need something for dinner.
So many dinner ideas.
Corn when in season is the best <3
Can’t wait for tomato season!!!!!
To make our trip to the farm more memorable, we asked the locals where to go for lunch and they suggested Taylor Haus. An old-school diner a couple of minutes away from Shaw’s Orchards.
Chella forever ordering milkshake with her meal 😛
A’s fried fish sandwich.
Chella’s mushroom swiss burger.
I felt the traditional vibe when I walked in the restaurant, so I decided to get the meatloaf.
The food was not great, some might say it’s not worth it… but I would honestly go back. It felt like we created a new tradition that I want to do with baby A and share with our loved ones too!
Yay! Produce!!! <3
Our favorite go-to dessert at home. Best summer cobbler ever.
During winter, we do apple cobbler <3
I wore blue to resemble a….blueberry! LOL
…and if you must know, my outfit was VERY comfortable. <3
