National Aquarium

Hello, dolls!!! Hello, Monday <3 Is there anyone else out there who feels proud whenever they survive another Monday? Cause I do! I woke up today feeling like the world hates me…because it’s Monday and the first 15 minutes of my Monday are always the worst! My body feels heavy whenever I try to get out of bed, and my heart feels heavier because I know my boy is going to wake up without me for the next 5 days.

So this is my current reality, I hate Mondays — I especially hate waking up at 4AM! Lately, I’ve been focused on planning my weekends at work since it has been stressful lately. My head is not 100% in the game and I feel guilty at some point — am I in a work rut? I know for a fact that there is nothing better than this, at least in the next 6 months! I really have to shake this feeling off and not letย SMondayย get the best of me ๐Ÿ˜›

I LOVE making my siblings happy. When my sister was here in Baltimore for her internship, I knew that it was the perfect opportunity for me to step up my “big sis” game. For her 22nd birthday, we decided to go to the aquarium to go on a different kind of adventure.

I took the night off from work on her birthday. It was perfect because it was a Friday and the National Aquarium does 50% off tickets when you go after 5PM.ย

Gorgeous!! I felt like we really left the city and went to a hidden place in Maryland.

Beautiful view of the Inner Harbor.

Megalodon Jaw

Honestly, this kind of made me scared. It felt weird to be so close to shark teeth!!!

Exploring our connection to water at the Blue Wonders exhibition.

This left me speechless!!! I could just imagine how big this whale was.

It was definitely a different experience for my sister and I. We usually go shopping when we go out so going to the aquarium is something that we will cherish forever as sisters. We can’t stop telling our parents about it that night!! All I can think about is how I look forward to going there with the entire family…now with baby A too ๐Ÿ˜‰ He is going to love it more than me for sure!

We got to touch some jellyfish too! What a moment.

Just in time for the last dolphin show. Make sure to catch it when you visit because it makes the entire trip worth it.

We got to the dolphin pavilion at least 15 minutes before the show, perfect amount of time to snag the best seats! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am not sure why, but the entire time I was watching the dolphins “perform” I kept on saying “I wish they are happy”. I might have felt that way because I’ve seen the documentary “The Cove” a couple of times and it made me sad, concerned, and most especially mad!

Going to National Aquarium is definitely a must when in Baltimore! ๐Ÿ™‚

My sister had no idea where we were going for dinner. I wanted it to be a surprise!

So where do you take someone who doesn’t like eat veggies or anything healthy?ย Fogo De Chao!

I LOVED the market bar more than the churrasco. I heard pregnant women should not eat raw or smoked fish so I tried my best to avoid the smoked salmon platter — it looked amazing and I can’t wait to go back and devour every bit of it next time! ;P

Lucky birthday celebrant got her favorite dessert!

I love being your Ate, Boobie! <3

  1. It looks like your sister had a great birthday and it’s so nice of you to treat her like that. I love the Baltimore Aquarium. Used to live in the East Coast and got really spoiled with it. And of course, Fogo De Chao is a great place to go for birthday meal. The trick is to bypass the salad bar until you are full on the meat.

  2. Aquariums, Zoos, and Museums are always fun with great company. That food is making me extra hungry, especially since its from my homeland yummmm!

  3. Now this is a lovely and grand aquarium.I really like those waterfall photos! And such a beautiful birthday dinner! It sounds like you two had a perfect outing and got to spend some quality time together.

  4. My kids and I love visiting aquariums around the country but we have yet to get to Baltimore. I am totally adding this aquarium to our list of places to get to if we ever travel out East again!

  5. What an amazing day at the aquarium. When I lived in Vancouver, way back when they had killer whales and it was my favourite exhibit. It is still nice to visit the aquarium and see all the vibrant colours and fish and sea life ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for sharing!

    1. I’ve never been to Denver but I would love to visit someday ๐Ÿ™‚ I wasn’t able to go to the on Chicago since it was such a short trip when we went. Definitely adding both to my list!
