Hello, dolls! Hello, snowy hump day <3 Anyone else cozying up with their favorite person in bed? Snow days are heaven sent to me especially during pregnancy. I get extra time to relax and spend time with my boys. Although I have to admit, not waking up at 4AM is the best part about it 😛 I had a productive day with little A! It’s my first official snow day with a toddler and I am happy I was able to keep him occupied with activities and made little chores around the house fun for the both of us. Today just made me more excited about my “break from work” — though let me tell you, I am just as exhausted! I feel like I worked a full shift lol.
Anyway, snow days mean spring is going to be here before we even know it! A and I already made a couple of Easter plans and I am so excited! I started thinking about the places we visited in the past and this spontaneous trip to Washington DC came to mind.
It is a tradition for our family to go to church before a trip to/from Manila or any family trip that we will all embark on. For my sister’s last full day in the US, she asked if we could go to Washington National Cathedral. Luckily, A was off so he was able to join us! 🙂
I’ve never been to Washington National Cathedral so I did not know what to expect, but I must say, it reminded me of Harry Potter so much!
It was another successful road trip with my newborn. After going to a couple of out of state trips with little A, hour-long car rides became easy peasy for us.
This reminded me of Hagrid’s cottage! Don’t you agree?
We did not know there’s a cafe right beside the church. Imagine my happiness when I found out we can actually sit down and enjoy a cup of hot drink before driving back to Baltimore.
The high ceiling and the medieval style windows definitely gave me more Harry Potter vibes.
They have fun games for those who plan to stay longer.
Everything looked sooo good!! I wanted to order all of it but I knew I would regret it later on.
I decided to get their apple pie. Cause who doesn’t love pie during fall?
My sister’s perfect cup of hot chocolate. How can you say no to this??
Her favorite afternoon snack, grilled cheese!
Matcha girl forever!!! I remember 6-7 years ago before matcha became a craze worldwide, it was so challenging to find a cafe that serves it. Now I feel like I can go to any place and get a cup of matcha latte.
Am I at Hogwarts? 😛
I wonder what little A will say about his photos with us 18 years from now 😛
The Bishop’s garden is a must see when visiting the Washington National Cathedral. The landscape is gorgeous! We felt like we were in a garden of some castle because of the way each section were laid out.
There’s a quiet place in every corner. Perfect for meditating or reading a book.
The Bishop’s garden is perfect for any kind of photoshoot. There was a couple on their prenup session and families like us taking pictures in every beautiful corner.
I would love to go back to Washington National Cathedral this spring to see all the beautiful flowers they have! I bet they are to die for.
My sister is leaving in a couple of weeks and I am starting to miss her already. She has been part of both of my pregnancy journies and been a great help with little A every day. I know he is going to miss her just as much as I will miss her.
One of my favorite fall outfits (definitely repeating this one). You can never go wrong with white and burgundy.
My favorite spot at the Bishop’s garden. It overlooks the Cathedral and it’s surrounded by flowers and beautiful bushes.
