First Pregnancy Flashback + Baltimore Birth Festival 2019 GIVEAWAY

Hello, dolls!! Hello, APRIL!! <3 Ever heard of the quote "April showers bring May flowers?" cause that's exactly how I can describe my April. There are so many things in store for me literally every week and I am just excited to bask in the goodness of this month.  I am now on my 33rd week of pregnancy and I can't believe how much my belly is growing! It is starting to make me think baby girl is going to be bigger than her big brother little A when she comes out in May. I literally feel like all of the beautiful things lined up for me this month will bloom beautifully in May -- just the thought of finally meeting my baby girl is more than enough for me to look forward to the month of May with so much positivity.

My pregnancy with little A was very different from what I am going through now. Both were beautiful and it’s amazing how I can still recall my experiences during my first pregnancy. Since I am only 7 weeks away from my due date, I thought it would be nice to dig up some beautiful memories when I was over 30 weeks pregnant with little A.

Before little A was born, I had no idea about anything. I am not exaggerating but I really did not care about brands and all that. If it weren’t for my baby registry, I wouldn’t be able to have a guide of what we will need. There were a couple of things I was certain about though, one of which, having a stylish BUT efficient diaper bag. I’ve seen movies where parents would pick up the wrong diaper bag because it looks similar to theirs so I made sure I would pick something uncommon — so Kate Spade diaper bag it is! Which is perfect because I LOVE Kate Spade.

Building little A’s crib at midnight. The only time A and I could get to doing stuff for him, we were so busy at work!

I started my maternity leave 2 weeks before my due date. It was crazy! I remember walking into little A’s nursery and feeling so overwhelmed because I knew I wasn’t prepared.

I got multiple messages regarding work during my “2-week” break before the baby and I thought to myself, “wow!do they really think I am on vacation?”. I wanted to break down and just tell them “I am not in some beach relaxing. I spend every hour worrying about things I do not have….and my body going through so many changes rapidly!”.

When I got my first bundle of Honest Company diapers and wipes, I thought I would be good for at least 2 months. WRONG! I underestimated how much diapers a newborn uses in a day. I can’t believe I even considered using cloth diapers for little A — I realized it doesn’t fit our lifestyle so I quickly rushed to Target to get more diapers! lol

I had my baby shower 2 weeks before my due date. Not ideal when you want to be ready but since I prioritized work before, I put it on hold for so long. Anyway, I realized there were things I still needed even after the shower. I was running around pretty much every day trying to complete my list.

Since I was able to stock up on everything with little A, I do not need to buy as much for baby girl. I kept most of his necessities as he was growing because I knew I wanted another baby someday. Thank goodness I saved them because it is saving us a lot of money right now…and time for me too! I do not have to run around to buy stuff the last minute.

Last week, I washed some of baby girl’s clothes. I can’t believe I am not doing it a week before my due date! We started renovating her room this week so it’s pretty exciting! I wasn’t able to organize any of his clothes until I was days away from my due date. YIKES. What a difference.

We received a lot of love from families and friends from everywhere — including Greece and the Philippines and my heart was so touched with how many people showered our little family with stuff that we will need for little A!

A and I are very fortunate that our parents are very supportive of us. The love that we received when little A was born was unexplainable. I remember feeling so happy because my parents and siblings were able to fly from Manila to Baltimore to spend time with us and meet their first grandson/nephew. This time, only my Mom and brother Renzo are here to welcome baby girl (which is okay honestly) but I know it is a big difference from when little A was born.

I can’t even begin to explain how big I have gotten since my second trimester!! I don’t remember being THIS BIG during my first pregnancy so I do believe all the other Mommas out there that said they were bigger during their second pregnancy too!

My first pregnancy is a walk in the park compared to this one. I was mostly exhausted because of work before and food aversion was not so bad. This time, I feel like I just experienced all of the things I only read before and said: “thank God I was able to dodge that”.

I am honored to partner with Maryland Families for Safe Birth for this giveaway. They are hosting one of the most exciting events this year in Baltimore, The Baltimore Birth Festival.

Maryland Families for Safe Birth was founded in 2011 by Moms and families who are dedicated to ensuring access to all birth options and informed decision-making throughout the process.

The root cause of the organization was for midwives to have a safe place to share their expertise and knowledge — they were being harassed and arrested. After lobbying over the years to practice legally, homebirth midwifery care is now accessible to anyone who wants it.

  1. This is such a great giveaway. Thank you for sharing your continued journey. Congratulations!

  2. You look so beautiful, when I was pregnant I have gotten so much stuff from family and friends. Most of it was not even use. However, one thing I have use a lot was the diapers and wipes. So I told my family and friend if anyone is giving gift diapers and wipes would be perfect.

    1. Yes!! For my baby sprinkle I told everyone diapers and wipes would really make me happy. I saved a lot of my son’s stuff especially the necessities so our baby girl doesn’t need much but the basic necessities 🙂

  3. So beautiful!! Congratulations on your second! I felt the same way about my first. I had NO idea. But the second one was a little more enjoyable (I never really liked being pregnant though…) because I didn’t have to buy everything!

  4. What a fab sounding giveaway!!! This is such an amazing collection of goodies – am watching the video now and it is a SUPER collection!!! Registering for as many entries as I can!!!

    1. I really love my Kate Spade diaper bag! I used it for more than 2 years and there were no rips or damages. I kept it and now I am going to use it again for baby # 2! Worth every penny <3

  5. You are adorable! I have to say I was the opposite with my first born – I was WAY over prepared! I had way more supplies than I could ever use and I spent my final weeks chewing my nails begging God to let this be the day I finally got to meet my little guy! Lol! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
