Hello, dolls!! Hello, school season! <3 I know school doesn’t start for another 2 weeks but I can already sense the “back-to-school” vibe everywhere in Maryland! I honestly can’t hide my excitement anymore. Last week, A and I went to our first school-related event as parents and boy, I AM JUST LOVING IT! 😛 Truthfully, I couldn’t say I LOVED school so much, I had my fair share of I-do-not-want-to-go-to-school days and deliberately not put any effort into things that did not interest me. However, I worked extra hard on things that made me curious.

Little A and I have one full week left until we go into our new routine. I am not sure how things will be once I have a preschooler, all I know is watching him learn new things and make new friends will bring so much joy to my heart. Anyway, I am trying to make the most of what’s left of our summer break which includes eating out!

One of the best restaurants we’ve been to is La Food Marketa. If you’ve been to The Food Market in Hampden, you will love La Food Marketa as well since it’s by the same restaurant group.

The menu is Latin inspired and I love how it’s sectioned depending on what kind of plate you want that night — tacos, big plates, or small plates to share.

Pan De Queso

THE BOMB!! We had to ask for two more servings of these amazing cheese bread because it was out of this world. I would go back to La food Marketa just for pan de queso.

You can never go wrong with chips, salsa, and guacamole! YUM

Smoked Fish Dip

Shrimp and Chorizo in Tomato Sauce

Spanish chorizo is one of my favorite ingredients to spice up a dish. The smokey flavor complimented the subtleness of the shrimp.

Seared Duck with Mole Sauce

A loves to eat duck! He will order it whenever it’s on the menu. This is the kind of dish that would keep him coming back.

Rockfish with Broccolini and Sweet Potato

“Stuffed Pepper” with Salsa Verde and Spanish Rice

This reminded me of meatloaf, but better! The grilled peppers and onion were the perfect addition to this hearty dish. The meat mixture was very flavorful, definitely something I wouldn’t forget!

The best way to end an awesome dinner at La Food Marketa — tres leches bread pudding! *drooling*

 #tbt March 2017

I can’t believe my boy is going to be in preschool in two weeks!!! It seems like it was only yesterday when we watched him stand up on his own and discover things he now loves — like reading and trains!

Our main goal this year is for Little A to be around kids his age. I know he is very eager to play with bigger kids. He is very anxious for his little sister baby C to be big enough to play with him. Whenever we are out and he sees kids he would always ask me if he can run with them. It breaks my heart to say no, so I know having consistent playmates will make him the happiest!

I can already foresee myself being so involved in his school activities! I promise I will try not to be the crazy stage Mom!! 😛

Potty training update: Earlier this year we started potty training Little A. I will talk about it more on a separate post since it wasn’t a 3-week easy peasy adventure for us. Basically, what really motivated us to do it was school. We were told that Little A has to be potty trained and luckily we were able to do it last month!

I know this could add pressure or stress to some parents right now since school is coming up! So if you need some motivation just hit me up! 😉
