24: Birthday Dinner

12.01.14: Il Mio Amore

Hello, sweets!!!! 🙂 Merry Christmas!!!!! I am a bit late but I know that the spirit of Christmas is still alive in every part of us. We are only a few days away from welcoming 2015
(whuuuuut!?!?!? already?!) and as my way of thanking you all my dear readers, I will post 2 special entries before the end of the year.

The past 2 months has been very eventful, and I can only thank the my big guy up there for all the blessings that I have received. I may be away from my family for all the joyous moments that happened in my life, but He never failed to make me feel their presence in all different ways. One of the biggest blessings that he gave me is A —- my constant source of happiness.

Before we move on…read about my previous posts about my 24th birthday

Since our November and December are already planned out for work and special events, we couldn’t really go somewhere out of Baltimore for my birthday. Despite of that, A still managed to make me feel like we are away by taking me to a place that he knows I love.DSC_0256AA

It was love at first sight I must say, when A took me to Charles Street for lunch. I told him that the area is unique and that it makes me feel like I am away from Baltimore.

It must be the hill like road…or the beautiful buildings and unique looking stores.

DSC_0230A

I really appreciate it when A plans our date. He is really great in choosing the perfect place to take me to.

For my birthday, he chose this 20 year old Italian Restaurant. Sotto Sopra

24: Happy Birthday Girl

11.29.2014: 24 is awesome

Hello, sweets! Ahhh…the past few days has been crazy stressful for me. I am blessed with a challenging situation that I know will make me a better worker. Times like this I am happy that I have this blog to let my feelings out — to unwind, to remember all the great things that happened in my life, and forget about all my miseries.

I do not have a lot of birthday posts like the previous years. In fact, I only have 3 this year. My birthday was eventful and I can honestly say that 2014 has brought me a lot of highs and one major sad event that will never make me forget this year.

DSC_0221A

A knew that I will not feel a 100% complete on my birthday because I am away from my family. But despite of that, he still made me the happiest birthday girl!

The thing about A, since he knows I don’t have everyone that I grew up with and need here by my side, he tries his best to be all that.He is super amazing!

DSC_0226A

A knows I NEED to have a delicious slice (or more) of cake for my birthday. So the perfect fiance went to one of the best pastry shops here in Baltimore and surprised me on my birthday with a DELICIOUS mango and chocolate mousse cake.

I love it when A goes behind my back to surprise me! haha (more…)

24: Birthday Brunch

11.29.2014: Hello, I am 24!

Hello dolls!!!! 🙂 As promised, here’s an entry about my 24th birthday. Life got extra exciting after I turned 24. How I wish I could have more hours in a day so I can finish everything that I have to do. The OCD in me is telling me that I should just keep on going…no stopping! But my fun-loving self is telling me to give my body a little break cause it is starting to get exhausted. Aaah how I wish time could freeze…even for just a day.

So I started the first page of the new chapter of my life with so much life. I think it is safe to say that we get rewarded equally by the amount of responsibilities that we face. That’s why I keep on reminding myself that I should embrace everything that comes my way, not complain. 353 days until I turn 25 but there are days wherein I feel like quarter life crisis is knocking on my door early. Haha Oh well, I have 353 days to make each day of my 24th year on earth memorable 😉

DSC_0223A

The eve of my birthday I can honestly say that I was not 101% excited about my birthday. I knew both A and I had to work all night so my excitement level was only 100….annnd I am away from my family so it was hard to be ALLLLL the way happy.

But waking up to a beautiful morning made me realize how God can bless us with the happiness that we deserve in different ways.

I know how blessed I am because of A and our family here. I was greeted by A as soon as I woke up and a table filled with presents and one of my favorite things to receive on special occasions…balloons!

It must be a challenge for A to pull off his surprise because I can be pretty nosy when it comes to my birthday and our anniversary (include Christmas as well! haha). I am very blessed to have a man who would wake up early to surprise me.

DSC_0191A

Since we only had the morning to celebrate, we decided to go out for brunch.

Not a lot of restaurants close to where we live serve brunch on Saturday so I asked A to choose where to go.

I have to commend him for always knowing where to take me. This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been!!! And I’m sorry if I have to keep it a secret for a little while 🙂 (more…)

Hello,24!

Hello, sweets!!! 🙂 I am officially 24!!! I feel like the past year went by really fast! I have a vivid memory of my 23rd birthday celebration, I feel like it was only yesterday when my family and I were all gathered at Relish for my birthday dinner. I am going to take quick break from my throwback posts today. I have so much joy in my heart right now and I know there is no better way to express my gratitude to the people who made my 24th birthday memorable but to put my feelings into words…especially to my loved ones from the other side of the world who made sure I will not feel the distance of being away from them.

DSC_1235AB

Today, instead of my usual thank you post.. I will enumerate 5 things that made my birthday PERFECT 🙂

DSC_1221AB

1. Family Time

This is my second birthday away from my family and just like how many of you would imagine, it’s hard. I get sentimental days before my birthday and spend my nights wishing I have my Dad close to me. Thank God for technology because I was able to Facetime with my family right at midnight. Filipinos are all about birthday salubong and I am so happy that I got to welcome my birthday with my family!!!

They had a party for me with all my favorite birthday dishes. Mama did a great job in making our dinner table look amazing again!! I wish I was home to eat with them all…to eat a huge serving of Mama’s pesto…a bowl of spaghetti…a piece of chicken..and a slice of the avocado cake that they got for me!!!

It was the 2nd time my family did that for my birthday, and I wish we do not have to spend more of my birthday away from each other!!!

DSC_1224AB

2. Happy Birthday!

This year’s birthday greeting were all heartwarming. I received messages from people I did not expect to hear from. I love reading long messages, and greetings that has a little touch of love.

I know I am a bit slow but I promise to respond to all of you before my bridal shower 🙂

DSC_1225AB

3. Surprise!

A did everything to make my 24th indelible. I am the luckiest and happiest birthday girl ever because I have an amazing fiance who will do anything just for me to have a smile on my face all day. The effort of waking up early and keeping things a secret from me (which is always a great challenge for him haha!) made my heart melt. He pulled everything off perfectly and I can honestly say I couldn’t have a more flawless birthday!!

DSC_1232AB

4. Happy Tummy!

Since A and I have to work until late on my birthday, so we made sure that we will have a lovely brunch celebration with our family here. A suggested that we go to this beautiful brunch place and it was the most perfect birthday brunch place!! We all had a great time and everything was exceptional!!!

Aaaaah I can’t wait to share everything with all you soon!!!

DSC_1248AB

5. 24

I did not have all day to celebrate my birthday with A.. I was away from my family..and I had to endure a long day at work. But believe me when I say, I had a perfect 24th birthday. I wouldn’t have it any other way. All the love that I received on my special day is more than what I could ask for.

I am sending everyone my love and kisses for making me the happiest girl yesterday!!! I am claiming 24!!!!! <3

Forever21plus2: My Kind of Party

11.30.2013: 22 days

Hello dolls! 🙂 It’s the first day of the month and I feel ambivalent about it.For the past few days, I’ve made things happen and did everything that I want to do, and I plant to keep it like that. I always get into this juncture when I am about to leave, like I try my best not to go that depressing sappy lane of “separation anxiety” or “SEPANX” as they call it now lol. I think I still have to muster up the art of putting a brave face for that “airport moment”, A and I did a great job this past October, and I want that to happen as well a few weeks from now. “It’s not going to be for too long, so there’s no reason to be sad”.

Anyway, this a “drama free” blog now, I am going to stop from there and go on with my last entry about my 23rd birthday! 🙂 BUUUUT before I do so let me share with you my #throwback for this weekend! 🙂

Since it now the first day of February, or the “love month” as hopeless romantics puts it, here are a couple of my favorite entries

Forever21plus2: R is for Happiness

11.29.13: Hello, Happiness!

“That’s why every year I make sure that we get to celebrate their birthdays”.  It was one of the best stories that I’ve heard and those words has been on my mind since then.It crushed my heart in some way, and made me realize how blessed I am to have a Dad who gave us more than what a child could ask for. Cliche, but there’s no other way to put it. I’ve always had amazing birthdays, and I can only think of one that I really didn’t like — but it was all me (and my drama).  Amusement park birthday, weekend getaway birthday, debut, bowling party, night out “cause I am 19!” and karaoke party — these are just some of the birthday celebrations that I had before I turned 20. As time went by I realized I want my birthday to be more intimate, and not about me partying with friends (and people I do not really like), it’s about me celebrating with the people I love the most — my family. I know it is pretty difficult to celebrate my birthday with them because of my status, BUT I found a way to make up for it — make theirs more memorable instead or any event when I am home.

commitment

Anyway, I have been really busy lately. My soul is so inspired and motivated for the past few days. I’ve committed to “ore “kitchen loving” until THE day. I cook or bake at home often, but there are days where in I let my lazy bone take over me. So yeaaaap, I am going to make this happen cause I love seeing my parents’ happy faces every time I serve them something good <3

Before I move forward, let me share with you a little “#Throwback” thingy again. I am going to “commit” to this as well and finish what I’ve started. Since I talked about being inspired, here are a couple of entries that I posted relating to it 🙂

We went to Relish for my birthday dinner.

It wasn’t my first choice, in fact it was not in my choices at all. I originally wanted to go to Cafe 1771, but since my brother does not get dismissed at school until 7PM, we had to go somewhere nearby so I thought “oh, Mario’s would be a good option”. But just my luck, they were closed for the day! 🙁 My Dad has been insisting to go to a buffet since November 1st, I’ve graciously turned him down every time, cause I want to enjoy a nicely plated meal for my birthday. So yeah, it was 8:45PM  and I know that restaurants will be closed soon so we ended up going to Relish since we were already in the area.

300th: Good Morning, 23

11.29.2013: Birthday lunch and things that made me smile

Hello, dolls!!! This is my 300th post!!! Wow!! I can’t believe that I actually made this “riannagalvez.wordpress.com” happen! 🙂 From a “drama queen” who just needed an outlet for her dark moments to a “fun loving lady who loves life”.The transition of this blog has been serious some sort and I am just grateful to everyone who has graciously clicked the follow button, and who has been continuously reading my entries!

300 posts and I feel like I am still a newbie. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to beautifying my page. — A little segue, does anyone know how to do that “read more” thingy here on wordpress? You know that link in the middle of each entry that lets the reader read the full length of the blog! This is so shameless…but yeah, sometimes WordPress plays tricks on me by making me feel sttttttttu.. yeah

Anyway, I told you I have something not too big for my 300th post. And since I love #throwbacks too much, I am going to give you a bit (or maybe more) of a throwback for the next couple of dates. I chose a couple of links that is going to be nice to look back to.. entries that will tickle that “inspiration” bone or just memories that I love <3 Some posts made me smile and say “aww”, cringe and just want to delete some photos, but mostly be reminded of how beautiful life is and how grateful I should be 🙂

Since this is an entry about my 23rd birthday, I will give you a little throwback of my 21st and 22nd! 🙂

Of Turning 23

11.29.2013, Friday

Hello, 23!

To all of you who remembered my special day, THANK YOU 🙂

I can’t put into words how I happy and grateful  I am to everyone who made sure that it will be nothing but perfect.

I am going to do my acknowledgements here cause a memorable day like this deserves a bigger page than a small box on Facebook 🙂

large

My ultimate wish for my 23rd was…TIME.

I only wanted one thing for my birthday, and that is to spend time with my loved ones here.

Nothing big…nothing elaborate.

Cause the best part of my day was waking up and knowing that I have my family to spend the rest of the day with.

tumblr_l6on5vvzIn1qahvtyo1_500_large

And even if we were miles and miles away from each other,

A was still able to make my birthday special..by just being the most awesome man one could ever have 🙂

The video call with everyone greeting me..the letter..and the TIME.

It all paid up for his presence during my day

…and I know someday soon,I will be able to celebrate my birthday with him and my family.

12bac92712b5d4bfff8bfbd5851148ac

Today, I am officially 23.

I can’t believe how time flew by. I have learned and experienced so much when I was 22. I made each day count and as I look back to my 22nd year, I am very satisfied with the lady that I became of since that Hello Kitty party! 🙂

I am so grateful to all the people that I have in my life now. And I will make sure that I will never let a day go by without telling my loved ones how much they meant to me.

I couldn’t be any happier about my future, it is looking so bright that everyday I am just getting more and more excited to do things.

photo

(shameless birthday selfie haha)

I wouldn’t have my birthday any other way. I got everything that I wanted, everything that I could possibly ask for. It was perfect.

To everyone who greeted me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and who took an effort in sending me a private message..THANK YOU 🙂 Each wall post, comment or message made me smile.

To my friends, who gave me an awesome Saturday night.THANK YOU! For supporting my introvert”ism” (#HAHA) — me not wanting to be with a crowd and my love for intimate dinners! It was yet another perfect night that ended into a “memorable” sleepover.

To my loved ones in MD, who made me smile on the first hour of my birthday, and made me feel that I am loved. THANK YOU 🙂

To my love, who did everything just to see me happy. THANK YOU 🙂 You are my purple balloon <3

To my family who made sure that I will feel loved and special, THANK YOU. I was the happiest daughter and sister this past November 29 <3

I will rock 23.

<3

KEEP CALM CAUSE I AM 23

04.08.13: I LOVE THEE

Hello, world!! 🙂 I am so happy that I can say that on this blog., seeing my meter go up each day and have visitors from different parts of the world makes me really really happy! 🙂 Countries that I would love to visit someday. I have a heart of a traveler, I love to experience new things and see beautiful places, and I am so happy that I was able to travel with the love of my life recently.

We both love to plan our itinerary according to the foods that we would like to try, so I feel like when I post blogs about the places I go to, I have more food photos than the beautiful sights that one would love to see. Anyway, we love going to NJ for our own piece of “vacation”. Working in the kitchen can get physically and sometimes mentally stressful, it’s a lot of fun and each day is fulfilling. We both like to reward ourselves by spending time with each other, and going to NJ for some quality time and have delicious food (which is always on top of our list).

The best part of going to NJ with him is when we cook dinner together. Sharing the same passion with him is one of the greatest things God blessed me with.To be able to talk about food for hours, get excited about new dishes that we can try, and stand side by side with him while cooking.

11.30.12: Birthday Treat

Last birthday post: Went to Westfield Mall to treat myself. I don’t want my birthday week to just come and go because my family was not here. It sucks that my parents were not with me to give me a birthday hug nor my siblings to be surprisingly kind to me (lol). what sucks more is that, my grandmother is the one who greets me first during my birthday for 21 years. And now, everything just drastically changed in a matter of 9 months. No one can truly understand how it feels like, to be away, to leave and to miss out a full year. So much for my sappy words, so yeah.. just 3 more months.

Forever21plus1: Hello, Kitty!

11.26.12: First of First

Hello World! I am 22 years and 9 days old today. A lot of people has asked me if I feel old or different. One, I do not feel old. I do not know why but there’s something about embracing another year of celebrating life is something that gives me excitement. It does feel weird though every time I say “22” when someone asks for my age. Second, things has been very different for the past 9 months. Would you believe, I forgot about my 9th month a few days ago until today. #SMH

This week has been nothing but crazy busy. Christmas Shopping x Work has made me eager to just go away for a while and live life to the fullest for a couple of days. #sigh

Anywaysy, thank God for my week long birthday celebration. It has totally eased my mind off from all the stress and weirdness around me.

Forever21: Her red outfit

Today, I will rest, blog, rest, watch, rest some more..rest until I feel well.Don’t you just hate it when you get sick during the holidays? ughh. I am wishing that I’d be better on the 30th!! This illness is causing me to put off my plans for 2 days already 🙁 One of which is to..burn some cals!! Ayayay 🙁

Anyway, I had a very simple dinner with a few of my girl friends last 12.9.11. We weren’t complete so it’s hard to do something extra fun. 🙁

Jho loves the salabat drink in Tsoko.Nut so I decided to treat them there 🙂

Tsoko.Nut is located in Eastwood Excelsior. Jho would always buy her salabat drink there before we go swimming :))

I am very glad to see that they now offer Pandan Milk Tea.

Tsoko.Nut is known for their batirol chocolate and Filipino desserts! 🙂

I loved their pandan milk tea! 🙂

Jho’s salabat drink comes in a “ala fish bowl” sized glass! :))

Jho ordered Bicol Express 🙂

I swear it was so good!!! 🙂 A must try when you’re in Tsoko.Nut 🙂

It was a cold evening so I opted to order this molo soup.

It’s such a shame that I underestimated this because of the price lol.

It was so good!! Well seasoned and perfect for the cold weather!! 🙂

Chelsey’s chicken wrap.

Mother and Jho 🙂

Us, in EE’s lobby 🙂

White Christmas? :))

We originally planned to watch New Year’s Eve..but the last full show was too late for us. Considering that we have an early call the next day.So we decided to watch Immortals instead. It was super worth it!!

I can’t get over Freida Pinto’s red dress! :))

Actually, I cannot get over her “getting naked” scene!! I am not a fan of Freida,so seeing her A was not amusing..at all! LOL.

Seeing her on the big screen reminds me of the “boulder” scene in Slumdog Millionaire.

And yeah..Immortals was awesome because of Henry Clavill. Another pretty boy added on my list. LOL

This is my last birthday post! Yay or nay? 🙂

Forever21: The Wish List

Every year, I come up with a “birthday wish list”. The number of wishes corresponds with my age. Before I turned 20 last year, I’ve decided to post my wishes on my Tumblr ,and to keep my self inspired, I posted each wish with a picture (cuuutesees!). Anyway, 14 out of the 20 “wishes came true” (yay!!) 🙂

Here are my 21 wishes this year (http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/riannagalvezbirthdaywish2011)

I actually had a hard time completing my list. Being blessed this much and having extreme happiness made me feel that I don’t need to wish for anything anymore. Though change is inevitable and “is the only constant thing in this world” as we all say, the contentment that I am feeling is just too much for me to want for something more than these. But, I have to squeeze every kaartehan in me to finish my wish list cause I don’t want to break this mores and put it to grave LOL. The fun thing about having a wish list is that, it reminds me of how beautiful a year has passed when I look back to my list. Plus, it makes me realize on how life keeps on getting better every time. 🙂

I always go “all out” on myself during my birthday month. I don’t rely my happiness on someone else cause I don’t want to get disappointed in the end.

One of my birthday rituals, shop alone and treat myself like a princess. And so I did!

Since I’m turning 21,I’ve decided to shop in Forever21. To my delight, they have this gift box already which looks cutesees and perfect for me!! 🙂

I originally wanted to wear red on my birthday, but this black dress caught my attention so  I went for this instead! 🙂

One of the best treats I have given myself! 🙂

The day after..

The day after my birthday is a holiday so my siblings and I planned to go out with our parents and Lola 🙂

Before heading to Newport Mall we dropped by at my Dad’s job site in PAL to check his workers and he projects that they were doing. It was nice to see my brothers observe with my Dad.

The best part of being tagged along my Dad when he goes to work is that I get to see airplanes and my happy place – the airport! Aaah <3 Such a beautiful scene to see..every time! 🙂

Above is the picture of one of the projects that they did 🙂 So proud of him!!

Aside from getting excited when I ride an airplane, seeing some projects that my Dad did being used gives me joy and makes me realize that I am fortunate to have a very hard working Dad! 🙂

After our visit to my Dad’s job site,we headed to Newport Mall..

One of the perks of being 21 – RWM Membership. LOL

My RWS membership card 🙂

Got this during our family trip in Singapore last June 2011. My Dad was inquiring about a hotel room availability in RWS but they were already fully-booked. His friend was kind enough to ask him if he wants to sign-up for a free membership. My Dad took the opportunity and asked if we (my siblings and I) can sign up too. We were under-aged so I thought she was going to turn us down. LOL

Shame on me 😐 I was supposed to finish this entry 3 days ago but I was too preoccupied 🙁 Anyway, 10 days to go and I’ll be 21 years and 1 month young. Life amazes me everyday! Its as if it’s my birthday everyday! <3 So far, 8 wishes have been crossed out already from my list! Yay 🙂

Christmas is already around the corner and as person who is blessed this much.. I am planning to give back 🙂

Watch out for December 25 dear reader,

R <3

Forever 21: Hey, birthday girl!

“Commit to God whatever you do,and your plans will succeed” (Proverbs 16:3)

Took another step towards achieving a dream next year. It still gives me the same feeling at the end of the day, you know – of wanting to fly but holding back on leaving. There’s just too much to accomplish for this goal, but what amazes me about this phase is that how God embraces me with the warmth of His guidance.

Anyway, here’s another birthday blog. Yeah..I’m still, and will still blab about my birthday!

A month before my birthday, I’ve planned on pampering myself and leave my stressful workaholic mind for a while. So after my overwhelming  birthday morning ( http://riannagalvez.wordpress.com/2011/12/02/forever21-sugar-high/ ) I asked my Mom to come with me and spend the rest of the afternoon to relax and regale.

Kylie Minogue’s song “Get Outta My way” is on repeat for almost a week.

So yeah, that’s my birthday song for my 21st 🙂 The song is uber F-U-N to the point that it can make my mind and soul dance! Also, it reminds me to be fearless and not let anything or anyone get on my way in achieving my goals and dreams.

Bruno Mars’ song “Today My Life Begins’ was my birthday song during my 20th

I had a pretty messed up life before I turned 20. The situations that I was in were unthinkable, this song helped me pick up the pieces one by one! And yeah, one of the best gifts that I received during my 20th was the realization of how blessed I am to be in pain and how I can turn things around by seeing the beauty in my life.

P.S. And yes, I’m that kind of girl. The girl who puts soundtracks on her life.

For my birthday dinner ( http://riannagalvez.wordpress.com/2011/12/12/forever21-birthday-dinner/ ) here’s what I wore

1st ring: Bazaar

2nd ring: S.O.A.

Necklace: Forever21

It’s hard not o fall in love with this! I just love how classy it looks up close! 🙂

Dress: Soiree

Bag: Mama’s LV

Heels: Bought during our family trip in Singapore (2011)

I am crazy in love with “nude” shades. I fell in love with this dress as soon as I saw it! Yeah, love a first sight.

So in love with my new hair color!!

..and how it was beautifully curled during my birthday 🙂

Birthday blogs will be done before Christmas (hopefully),

Forever21: Birthday Dinner

For my birthday dinner, I’ve decided to treat my family in Lorenzo’s Way.

I chose this restaurant because:

1. it’s under LJC group

2. they serve Filipino food

3.it’s situated in Greenbelt.

4..and, because of their Paella.

Upon arriving in the restaurant, I’ve noticed that most of their guests are business men/women and families.

It’s quite pleasing to see some guests in their tux and classy looking middle-aged women.

Lorenzo’s Way, Greenbelt 5

It’s the first time that I’ll be treating my family for my birthday. After 20 years,it’s finally my turn.yay! 🙂

My brother Renzo and I waited for our family to arrive in the restaurant for like almost an hour. We had this while waiting, house blend iced tea. 🙂

They went to Sinfully first to buy me all of their mini cakes. Aaah <3

My sister loves fried calamari so  we started our dinner with this 🙂

Crisp and very tender! It would have been perfect if the dip doesn’t come in a “bottle” 😐 :))

My Dad loves callos and this did not disappoint us! It was so good that we had 2 of this 🙂

The sauce of their lengua is very flavorful and the ox tongue is very tender! It felt like I was eating beef actually:)

I love Paella!! If I can have it everyday I would!

One of the best paella’s that I’ve had!! Aaaah! Take me to Lorenzo’s way now please 😀

The LJC group is also known for their kare-kare.

The seafood kare-kare that we had during our dinner at Fely J’s kitchen took me straight to heaven so I couldn’t let my birthday pass without ordering their kare-kare at Lorenzo’s Way.

Kangkong with Lechon Kawali

Our dinner wouldn’t be complete without veggies. I find this too salty which made me miss Fely J’s sauteed paco with mushroom.

photo c/o Chella

My brothers love LJC group’s pla-pla.  This was served with shrimp buro and mustasa/mustard greens.

My Dad went crazy over their mustard greens and shrimp buro! Our Pampangeno server taught my Dad how to eat it so it was really such a delight from him 🙂

Dilis Rice

Just because I miss eating dilis.

Crispy Pata

Bangus Belly with Kangkong Blachan

Ordered this for a change. Flavorful, spicy and a dish with texture. 🙂

My Lola and I <3

Batoots!! 🙂

3 generations <3

The staff of Lorenzo’s way sang for me and gave me this! Aww 🙂

I love how it is still very Filipino because of the banana on top 🙂

I couldn’t let my birthday pass without going to Gelatissimo <3

Aaaah, love!! 🙂 <3

Hi!! 🙂

More birthday blogs to post,

Hello, 21!

11.29.11

Sometimes I feel like I have a death sentence with the way I live my life nowadays. Knowing that I won’t get to spend and celebrate my 22nd birthday with my family already saddens me so I promised myself that I should make my 21st memorable. I am fortunate to have a family who shares the same sentiments in regards to this. They made me feel like I am the only birthday girl on November 29.

After an 8 hour sleep that I’ve been longing for almost 3 weeks already, I woke up to our maid’s voice saying “Ma’am gising na po si Ia”. I could’ve slept longer but I wanted to accomplish a lot on my birthday. My Mom greeted me with a kiss and asked me to wait a little longer before eating. The thought of my Mom cooking excites me every time so I patiently waited.

My first surprise was from my Sister! 🙂

Having a sister who knows me well leaves my closet very happy! :))

This note was under my plate. Definitely the cutest thing ever!!! <3

I know I have yet to earn the title “Chef”. My Dad calling me that is a great reminder that he will always love and support me.

We all love my Lola’s spaghetti, and I’m glad that my Mom can cook it just like her. We always expect that on our “special days” so I was already waiting for a big plate of delicious spaghetti. To my delight, my Mama cooked something different and special for me <3

Her first pesto was really a smash hit! I swear, it tasted like she’s been doing it for years already! Her plating did not surprise me cause it wasn’t the first time that she experimented in the kitchen. I remember her cooking korma and couscous one night, a memorable dinner for my tummy indeed 🙂 <3

I am seriously craving for her pesto NOW!!!

My Dad knows I love shrimp so he woke up early to go to the market so we can have the freshest steamed shrimp for brunch.

My Dad picks the best bouquets. I am not a “flower” kind of girl, I would rather get a box of chocolates. My Dad is the exception.

My family surprised me with 21 pink balloons! <3

And as if the surprises earlier were not enough…

I received 9 mini cakes from Sinfully by Makati Shang during our dinner. They ordered all of the flavors for me to try..and for them to help me finish everything. lol

With my family’s efforts and sweetness,it’s hard not to say these words! 🙂

The grateful birthday girl 🙂 <3

Now 21,

Forever 21: T Love @ John and Yoko Philippines

11.24.2011

I officially welcomed my birthday week with my college friends from UST, LA and Caloy. We would always meet on Tuesday or Thursday way back, hence the “T love” title that we would always say. Unexpectedly, after gazillion months, we were able to see each other again..on a Thursday!

We agreed to meet in Greenbelt at 6:30PM! But knowing this two, I know they would be late! Hehehe :)) We decided to have dinner at John and Yoko.

LA arrived 30 minutes after our call time. I was starving to death so I ordered this chicken teriyaki roll while I was waiting.

I find it “okay”. Your ordinary sushi roll with mangoes and chicken teriyaki. Nothing exciting, considering that we are dining in John and Yoko: A Cosmopolitan Japanese Resaurant..it was kind of blah.

LA wanted a roll that has cheese,so the server recommended their version of Philadelphia Rolls. I was expecting something that would surpass Teriyaki Boy’s Philadelphia Rolls..but this was a huge disappointment! Again, we are in John and Yoko..in Greenbelt 5! But upon seeing the size of the rolls and tasting this..I can’t help but say that Teriyaki Boy’s are waaaaay better!

Mango Yakult and Green Apple Yakult.

LA’s mango yakult was rally good!!! I should’ve ordered it instead!!! Craving.Right.Now!!

Seafood Yakisoba

I always order yakisoba every time I’m in a Japanese Restaurant! Finally, a dish that I can truly say worth the price, location and the name of the restaurant.

The chicken teriyaki was really good too. The chicken was juicy and the sauce was on point.

I wanted to try their dessert with Nutella, but it’s not available so we ordered the mango crepe instead.

fac

This made up for Caloy’s tardiness! :))))

So sweet of them to surprise me with my favorite!! <3

We went to Classic Confections for more dessert. I ordered this mango bar since it’s technically our second round of desserts!

LA ordered this heavenly delight!! Cheesecake Obsession! My new obsession indeed! I am very excited to visit CC again for this!

Dessert Round 3!! What better way to make the night more memorable?? Get gelato cause it’s my favorite <3

Throwback to 3 years ago.
