12.24.2013: Old Stories for the New Year

Hey dolls!!! Happy New Year! 🙂 So I meant to work on this blog yesterday (January 1st here in the Philippines) but since family comes first, I had to delay this for a little bit. But hey! It’s still January 1st somewhere, right?:) Anyway, so after this I will take another breather and work on our “day-2-in-Palawan-diaries” (cause this blog is just out of the rhythm like that).

1

I had an AMAZING first day of the year (told you my 2014 is going to be just as amazing as 2013!).

This status pretty much sums up my night, and I feel like it will be a better intro than me trying to find new words for a beautiful moment. I feel really blessed that I had the opportunity to listen to my Dad and his siblings’ childhood. All the stories were beautiful and moving that I find myself promising that I will do everything that I can to make each day for my family just as lovely as it is now. All my life I looked up to my Dad, but after last night, I feel like I can do so much more for him and give more. I feel like I am the luckiest daughter for having him as my Dad <3

My Dad is the most generous person that I met, and Christmas here at home is not complete without seeing boxes and boxes and boxes of presents.

These are just 1/3 of the presents, and every year my Dad would giveaway these beautiful calendars straight from China.

Palawan Diaries: #CebuPacProblems

09.27.13: Cebu Pacific = “we guarantee you that your flight will be DELAYED”

Hello, sweets! <3 I know we are all still on that CHRISTmas vibe! I am not going to write a separate post for it this time as I want to finish all of our first-day-in-Palawan entries before we kiss 2013 goodbye 🙂 I had an amazing Christmas this year, one of the best I must say! So I’ve decided to do another take on my “recent-for-recent-in-between-my-lazy-backlogs” again. I’ve had an amazing year, and I just do not want each memory to fade away just because I can’t devote enough time on this blog. Anyway, I wish you all had an amazing Christmas just like I did. AND remember Christmas is not about the presents that we get under our tree, it’s about the big guy up there 🙂

Let me share with you the first part of our Palawan trip.

The girls and I have been wanting to go to the beach since..forever. A trip that doesn’t involve my driver driving us to some place 2 hours away from Manila. We need a SOLID beach trip. So months before A got here, we planned to go to Palawan, cause we feel like Boracay is too mainstream..especially when someone is visiting the Philippines! Pluuuus, my girls are too adventurous and Palawan has so much to offer.

09.12.13: Brunch lovin’

Hello, dolls!! 🙂 So I’ve been spending a lot of time in our kitchen here at home (yay! the joy having a newly built kitchen). I have so much to share on this blog -food, the awesome 3 weeks of my 2013, and more FOOD! One of the things that I love to do here in Manila is to save a day for a restaurant that I want to try,or sometimes when I’m lucky I get to have another day for a restaurant that I want to go back to. I love dining out and be inspired to “experiment” on something new in the kitchen.

So this happened 12 days before A got here in the Philippines…and obviously I am over 2 months late again 🙁 But, guess what?? this blog will be back on track in no time! Just like how it started! 🙂

IMG_8981

My attempt of making this photo cuter than it actually is. I wanna say…#FAIL

IMG_8977

Inviting cupcake set-up by the entrance. No one would pass up on a VCB experience once they see this (and this is only 10% of their pretty interior decoration).

IMG_8990

Made me regret not buying the cupcake stand that I saw almost 8 months ago that is similar to this 😐

IMG_8991

IMG_9060

I’ve always adored the pretty chairs in Vanilla Cupcake Bakery. They all look so comfy that will make you want to stay for hours…and order 4 cupcakes!

IMG_8979

IMG_8986

More cuteness! 🙂

IMG_8978

If I can have this set of spoon and fork without making my future husband look gay…I would buy a set pronto!

VCB just proved to me that they can show “cute” in every way! 🙂

Eggs and Biscuit

Cause I love biscuits (and I kind of wish that we have Popeye’s here — I can already see A giving me that look haha)

And..and cause…I love home fires for breakfast..or potatoes.yes, potatoes (I am crazy about potatoes)

Lastly, EGGS! I can have egg anytime of the day (breakfast food for dinner?? AWESOME!)

(So yeah…that was the fatty inside of me talking!!)

IMG_9058

I was very happy with my order! Although I wish the biscuits were bigger…just like Popeye’s. Haha

IMG_8987

Yes kids, they have 94 cupcake flavors!! #Heaven

IMG_8988

IMG_8989

I was stuffed by the time we finished. So I passed on having a cupcake for dessert.

Anyway, I really wanted to go there to try their food! 🙂

IMG_9054

So good to finally see my SDF after almost 3 years 🙂 It was an afternoon full of laughter and realizations <3

IMG_9009

Almost there! 🙂

Other Side

April 2013

Someone pinch me now….this is my third consecutive blog for the week! I never thought that letting myself drift away from my crazy “I-always-need-to-do-something-productive” self can be this damn good. I have always lived my life like my world is going to fall apart if I do not do anything that requires me to be on my feet for more than an hour. Life has its way of letting the productivity into my life even if choose not to entertain anything but “calmness and relaxation” (but let’s face it, laziness is the word that I am getting to lol). I have no concrete explanation of why I am in this “#BumLife” mode since he went back home, maybe it’s my way of drifting away from the sadness (which I must say, we did a really good job on) or maybe it’s my way of telling myself that it’s okay to stay in bed for more than 8 hours. All I know is, I am only giving myself until this Sunday to wake up and see the world again.

What do you do when you have 2 white frames from IKEA? 🙂

Make it look fab with a nice set of Keep Calm stickers from a scrapbooking shop! <3

04.03.13: I kinda like it here

As promised, here’s another post…and I am thinking that maybe I can stretch this weekend and post another one before the most amazing Tuesday of my life happens 🙂

desktop

So this is how my desktop looks like as of today. I like to “organize” each folder according to my insanity’s liking. There are is only one thing that I can think of, as of now, that can win over my OCD. And that is my desktop. So before I get gaga over sorting photos for the next 3 weeks, I want to make room (literally).

DSCN7205

I am crazy over anything by Kinder. Almost 10 years ago, I stopped by 7/11 in Hong Kong and decided to buy “dinner” for myself. Back at that time, anything unpleasant smelling would set me off so I settled for the good stuff…..chocolates! Haha

For a week I would have Kinder Bueno with every meal! It was crazy love that I decided to marry Kinder….forever.

DSCN7206

Oh…hey there cutie! 3 bites of goodness. Yuuuum!

DSCN7207

I’ve always wished that I can have a bar of Kinder with more filling…..

…..and it was granted!

Hello Kinder Happy Hippo! You are perfection! <3

I do not really like wearing pants, I want the feeling of being feminine when I go out. But in the States, it’s either that, leggings, or…..suffer from the cold weather!

If we have pink trees like this in MNL…I will go out more often!

DSCN7199

To end this post, let me share with you 2 of the dishes that we cooked together 🙂

Pancit x Steamed Fish!! I can’t wait to cook with the person that I love to cook with soon!!!!! We’ve had some great memories inside the kitchen and I can’t wait to have more!! <3 🙂

P.S. It was my first time to cook pancit,, and weird as it may sound but he is so crazy about it! Which makes me do a silly face every time! And I am so happy to say that he liked it! Yay 🙂

IMG_5733-horz

I love pasta!! If I can eat it without getting fat I will have it everyday!!! I am so fortunate to have a boyfriend that can cook really good pasta….and allows me to smother my pastawith cheese (even if he hates it when I do it on seafood)

Roasted Pork Fried Rice with Bacon that I made for him before he went to work!! Irony of life…I am an Asian but I will choose pasta or Greek food over Chinese Food…While on the other hand, he will die for Chinese food anytime of the day!!!

6.16.13: Happy Father’s Day

I wish I took more photos. I wish I took more photos. I wish I wasn’t shy enough.

My silly self is telling me that I should have taken photos of everything that I did in the kitchen – last week, last year, the past 2 years. Everything, you know. I should have documented them in a pretty way like the photos below. But no, I was too annoyingly shy to take out my phone and take photos. (And by this time I am constantly #SMH). Anyway, looking at the bright side, I have a lifetime to take photos, and work on my shyness. Gaaah I know this is gazillion weeks overdue but with the way this blog rolls, time has never been a good friend of mine – in any way. DSCN8210

So for Father’s Day, my sister and I decided to do something special for the man that loves us unconditionally.

I know a lot of you can speak in behalf when I say, it’s hard to buy a present for a person who has everything that he needs.

But lucky for me, my Dad is the most appreciative person that I know.He values every little thing like it’s a gem.

DSCN8211

Having a father who is always up for an adventure when it comes to food is like having a reward when you’re someone who works in the kitchen.

since it was a Sunday, a beautiful one for that matter, I’ve decided to do something that I enjoy doing for brunch at work….Eggs Benedict.

DSCN8212

So with the help of my (not so) little Sister, we were able to surprise my Dad with a beautiful looking plate for brunch 🙂

IMG_6920

I think Eggs Benedict is such an eye-candy in photos. It’s more photogenic than me.

P.S. I wish I had something green and small (like chives or parsley at least) to put on top.But I am now in the land of “it’s-hard-to-find-fresh-herbs-here”

P.P.S. Parsley was out of stock when I went to the grocery the day before #SMHx1000

IMG_6919

I am not a photographer, and my knowledge about my camera is very limited. So yes, I get extremely happy when I take nice photos!!

My Dad was one happy guy this past Father’s Day!!! 🙂

Solitude

03.25.13: Seasons of L-O-V-E

I’ve always wondered how it’ll be like to experience seasons change. To have different sets of clothing 4 times in a year, and see leaves change from green to yellow. Two seasons has passed and I am just about to share to you how spring went by too quickly for me this year. I have lived two separate lives in the past 2 years, and both are wrapped in solitude. Despite of all the things that I’ve accomplished, and all my loved ones surrounding me, how do I get out from this labyrinth if the antagonists are the thoughts in my head?

Drifting away from the road of being sappy, I try to be on the positive side of life and feed my crazy cells with anything that my sanity can get a hold of. Vague, yes. That’s what you get if you watch 3 movies in a row and put yourself to sleep with different tvShows that makes you more…gaga over life and life. The questions in my head that I am trying to deal with are comparable to the things that I am still trying to figure out with the programs that I follow. “So why is Miranda Bailey’s husband in The Mistresses, is he coming back to GA?” “Okay…I love 2 broke girls, but there’s something bothering me about it….Caroline’s ignorance or Max’s bold attitude?”….”but wait, all I really care about are the cupcakes!” “The only reason why I watch this show is because of Remi (Devious Maids).

IMG_5784

Having a Chef as partner can be a curse for someone who has a different passion. But for us, it is a blessing. Having someone who loves and does the same thing that I do makes me feel like I won the lottery every single day. It’s always an adventure in the kitchen for the both of us 🙂

Another Greek dinner for us! Work free days like this becomes more special when you spend it with great food and the people that you love. No day off is wasted with an amazing dinner at home.

IMG_5854

Made lamb burgers. The most amazing lamb burger that I’ve ever had!!!!

One of the most awesome things that we did at work. This recipe was from a Chef that I truly admire and look up to. I am still in awe every time I think about the dinner services that we had and that “it’s easy if you just try” moments.

Fast Car

June 2013: “Is it fast enough so we can fly away?”

If I can blog like how time flies, this account would be updated like it’s Twitter. But thinking about it, I can’t even update my Twitter account regularly, often times I forget that I have one! #SMH Haha. Anywaaaaay, I know I always blab about time, and how each month seems like it’s only a day in my book. Being excited about a lot of things really helps, especially now that time has been the number one reason of my sadness. So life has been nothing but wonderful lately, despite of the rain and annoying internet service that we get here at home. I am officially a busy girl now. With how fast this process is going, I know that anytime soon I will be too caught up with my “future” next year. But with all the craziness that I have to deal with, I always see to it that I have enough time for my full time job, as a daughter and a sister. I am lucky cause my job (like the real thing haha) is not too demanding.

So here;s another rundown of my lovely June 2013.

1

Sundays are usually spent with family. And if I’m lucky, I get to spend it with this cutie! 🙂

IPL day is Sissy day!!!! 🙂

I am very particular when it comes to my armpit, and I swear…once you go IPL youcan never go back! haha:P

Dinner in Momo, one of her favorite restaurants. My Sister is a certified picky eater, and it is such a pain in the butt-erfly. Going out with her means “limited restaurant choices” so yeaaaaap. Thank God for Momo!

I had a bowl of sqush soup, that tasted like bolognese sauce. And Caesar Salad that needed more of everything, considering the price. I just can’t understand how stingy some restaurants can be when it comes to salad. I mean like, seriously, there is no cooking involved and you are going to price it like an entree? C’mon Manila! :))))

Anyway, my sister enjoyed her beef tapa, but I bet she wished she was having her usual meal — Southern Style Fried Chicken. what really made me smile was the free choc-nut. It really made me feel that I was home. 🙂

Going to Eastwood on a weekend is a treat! I love looking at the nice booths lined up inside the mall!

So obviously my passion revolves around food…. eating them, and making them 🙂

Dinner in Mary Grace with my girlfriends.

Yes kids, I like having  salad for dinner. Not only because I like to watch what I eat, but because I love anything healthy!! There’s something about salad that makes me really really satisfied when I eat. I love Mary Grace’s mushroom “pate” , but unfortunately the first one that they served us had hair in it 🙁 What make it more gross is that, I was already halfway done with it when we saw it!! Eek

MD Chapter

03.18.13: Where I truly belong

One of the things that truly amazes me about life is how God puts me in a position where I can learn a lot… and when I say A LOT, it means more than a handful of what I expect and deserve. I have been blabbing about the turning points in my life for years now. It’s just hard not to, especially when I realize that I can inspire someone.

DSCN7194

Went to one of my favorite bookshops in the States! Ukazoo! They sell previously owned and new books.  Trust me, I tried my best not to go out with so much books, but these are just so hard to resist! I went back a few more times after that Monday!!

P.S. Sadly, I can’t bring all of the books that I bought. I had more or less 18 books in total and I was only able to bring home 6 🙁

IMG_5694

Fact: I LOVE MEDITERRANEAN FOOD! I am so lucky that my boyfriend is half Greek cause I get to enjoy the same food that I love with him.

Wait…. don’t we always do? Haha 🙂

img1

Appetizers: Grilled Calamari, Hummus and Tzatziki

I love tzatziki!!! I eat it with everything!!! I can eat it with my steak, fried chicken or whatever is in front of me LOL.

It is safe to say that “we got served”. Served with too much pita breads! Pita has got to be one of my favorite breads, maybe next to brioche even! We went home with a bag of pita bread enough for 6 people!

IMG_5699

Grilled Octopus in red wine vinaigrette with tomato-cucumber relish

Soooooooo goooood! There’s something about octopus that makes me feel like I’m a beast. haha #Weirdo

And of course! A Greek food trip will not be complete without these yummy babies! Gyro and Souvlaki! Mmmmmm

DSCN7195

I first knew about ACF from our school, I never really thought much about it until my graduation, when they handed me that certification. I became more interested about it when I worked at BCC, all of the great Chefs that I worked with are part of this. And I though to myself…. wow I have that too (though mine was just on the student category only that time). So when the time came that mine expired (I was in luck cause I was still there when it happened) I didn’t hesitate on renewing. With God’s grace, I was able to do so and much more, I got upgraded to a Certified Culinarian. It means a lot to have this with CC beside my name. (apart from the fact that I am crazy about cards haha)

IMG_5703

After our uber late lunch, we went straight to Stratford to witness a demo. One of the perks of being part of ACF is that you get to attend meetings, demos or any Culinary related stuff arranged by your chapter.

IMG_5705

A french chef butchered a pig. He looked like he was filleting a fish. Haha

I liked the insights that he told us too! Made me want to attend to more ACF meetings! <3

IMG_5710

Oh hello there! If the meeting took place here in the Philippines, this head would be a sisig after a few hours! haha

OOTD: And of course, to balance everything about this blog (weirdo style) here’s an outfit post!

DSCN7886

Unfortunately for me, I can blab more about food. I love fashion! I love dressing up! I love style! But cooking is my passion so it’s easier for me to speak from the heart and talk about it all day.

DSCN7888

It is a delight for us to have a warm weather right after winter. So I took the opportunity to dress the part. I wore a floral skirt to scream SPRING and a jacket to say “hey it’s not summer yet” HAHA!

DSCN7887

Forgive my face, the wind was blowing too hard that it made my face freeze. Not warm enough apparently! haha

Oh, Manila

April May 2013: A roundup of randomness

I know… I KNOW, I haven’t been fair to this blog, especially to you readers. I have failed to deliver and make this page as exciting as it was. But despite of my absence, I am really grateful of everyone who has been visiting my blog. My daily stats never went down to zero and I have gained a few dolls on my followers list. So thaaaaank you everyone! <3 🙂

Anyway, I have been contemplating about life deeply for the past few days. The girls and I spent a lovely sleepover this past weekend and it has opened my heart into expressing the thoughts and feelings that I have kept inside, towards my life here in Manila.

It is disappointing to feel like a tourist when I step out of our home. To choose to be on the other side of the world than to be here. I have been very bold when it comes to my family and how they affect my choices in life. But one thing that gets into me is how the people that doesn’t know anything can say so much just for the sake of…speaking. It disturbs me how someone can just make my life his/her business, when they haven’t done anything but to be a professional stalker. My life was an open book before, it’s like a portfolio for some, just waiting to be turned and exposed. God knows how devastated I was and how I struggled just to be who I am now… happy, contented, blessed, loved, and existing.

Existing, yes. I remember when I was still in college, our Logic Professor talked about “life”, he mentioned that “to live is to exist”, and that thought is stuck on my head ever sinceHe said, you make yourself exist by living, by doing things that will make you live, and by doing things, that’s when you exist. A few years after, I realized that I should try to exist and live to have my own identity in this world. So I prayed and told Him, I want to feel good about myself, and be great at something. It took me 2 years to be blessed with such…and I am telling you, it was worth the wait.

So yeah, it still breaks my heart every time I think about my decisions in life. But see, God blessed me with something big and we all know how sacrifices work in our lives. Nothing great comes easy. It’s sad that the thing that made me feel great is at the other side of the world. In just a span of 1 year, I was able to learn a lot and hear the most motivating and flattering compliments from people who are highly-skilled, Top Chefs if I must say. I never thought that I can be that person, and it’s such a shame how I didn’t feel the same appreciation when I got back (aside from my family). Anyway, in a few months I will do what I love the most again and feel great. And be able to make my family proud (again and again and again) and be mum about it (again). “Let them wonder why you’re smiling” , as they say.

This welcomed me earlier 🙁 I can’t believe that the browser that I have been using for the past 2 years (I think) is retiring!!! I spent almost half an hour transferring my bookmarks and jotting down my saved passwords. #hassle

WEEK 1: Finally

1

First official week highlight: A trip to the salon.

It has been 15 months since I last had my hair cut and treated. I had the driest hair in Manila!! I felt guilty after seeing almost 4 inches of hair on the floor 🙁 All for the love of…beauty! Haha 🙂

——————–

Week 2 highlight: T Love

Met up with my college friends, Caloy and LA! <3 🙂

I forgot small servings here in Manila are…and how overpriced they are in unworthy restaurants! I don’t even know how to start with the VERY VERY VERY small shrimp that was served in my brother’s Alfredo pasta 🙁

Mother’s Day ’13

05.13.13 – Happy Mother’s Day It has been 2 years since I last celebrated Mother’s day with my family. Though  life has been nothing but amazing, sometimes it’s hard not to wallow into my own sadness and say “why do I have to miss those moments”. The perplexity of what I am feeling right now is just too much that even I couldn’t seem to fathom WHY I am feeling this way when I am supposed to be….happy. Not that I am sad or anything, it’s just that it’s one of those moments where in I am too overwhelmed that my entire sanity just decides to shut off.. or maybe it’s just the excruciating pain that I am feeling because of my “wisdom tooth”.. Oh wisdom, if only I didn’t like that word enough I wouldn’t care this much about the future, but I DO. And I love that I want procure as much wisdom that I can get in this lifetime. So how can I start blabbing about my tooth and lead it into life? Easy…my insanity has taken over me and all I know is, there’s one thing that I want now and it’s to be beside the only person that can keep me sane. IMG_6408

Since Monday was a national holiday because of the election, we’ve decided to celebrate on that day instead. Away from the busyness of what Sunday could’ve brought us.

Downside: Various restaurants were closed, including the restaurant that took our reservation and failed to inform us that they are going to be closed. BUMMER.

Anyway, we started our day by going to our local precinct to vote. I am a 2nd time voter and every time I get out of the room with that ink on my finger, it doesn’t fail to make me feel responsible. Ha ha :)) Unfortunately, most of the Senators that I voted for didn’t make it…. And trust me, I am just as disappointed as the people who has been expressing their dismay about the results but there’s nothing much that we can do but to hope for the best and pray for those who made it to the Senate…

DSCN8083

Spent the day in The Fort roaming around and eating whatnots with the fambam 🙂

Then headed to Podium for dinner!

Philly post coming up!

of Moving Forward..again

The week that was..

The past month has been nothing but an emotional ride. My lack of commitment and time on this blog is making me shake my head like I just committed a cyber crime. It’s ugly in its own way and all I can think about is how to keep the juices coming out when the price is a tear for every word.

IMG_6162

04.24.13

The day I learned how to say goodbye and not mean it.

IMG_6171

The first time I missed a flight because of a 3 hour delay. IT was horrible in a way, to spend another full day in LA and make the agony of seeing my family longer. But every time I think about it, it definitely helped me get through another emotional flight.

IMG_6182

IMG_6184

IMG_6185

Dinner , breakfast and snack

I have to take pride in PAL’s heartwarming service. It took me 3 plane rides to get to Manila and the first 2 were just exhausting and an epitome of disappointment. Apart from the fact that both flights were delayed, the service was just below average. I always choose to fly with PAL. The hospitality of the crew on board and the services they offer are just beyond words. From the clean plane to the complete amenities that you will need to not getting bored.

IMG_6173

Obviously, I was a mess that day. The Fault in our Stars was my companion during my 2-day “solo flight”.

IMG_6186

One thing that I cannot do in life, to travel light. I am used to the weird stares at the baggage carousel already every time I travel.

But one thing I do know is…travel in style. I tried not to knock down the LV when I used it as my laptop bag and I must say, it isn’t LV for a reason. Haha

Freeze

02.20.13:  7 weeks overdue

Have you ever been scared of losing something that you have been holding on for so long in a single step? Like something close to perfect, and there are no other option but that inevitable thing that you are bound to do. As much as I want to stay away from that sappy lane, I can’t help but wonder, how amazing would it be if we can just freeze time.

My head is spaced out and my heart is overwhelmed.  That’s all I know.

DSCN7405

I can still remember how happy we were  that day, how that rainy day turned bright and sunny for us.

I hate to say that sometimes, it’s such a shame how things change drastically in a split second. Just like that.

DSCN7406

DSCN7407

There is no other way of celebrating a day of enlightenment but to go to a Chinese Restaurant and have good chinese food. I just have to emphasize on that cause Asian food here are so Americanized.

Christmas’12: The Oregon Grille

12.24.12: First Snow

Hey Dolls! I know it has been a while AGAIN. I was,and still, caught up in between life and life. It’s really hard for me to step foot into the world of requiescence. Most of the time I find myself wishing for another hour of sleep, or more time for me to go shopping and devour myself with beautiful stuff for my closet..but on top of all that, I wish I have my family with me while I experience all these. To have them beside me when I go through the beauty of life. Christmas 2012 has been very different for me, first time in my 22 years of existence that I was away from my family. No Christmas hugs and kisses from the parents, and silly quality time with the siblings. And above all, hearing mass together is something that I terribly miss.

DSCN6769

Got picked up by a stretch…..awesome! 🙂

Our HR arranged a very lovely lunch day for us. He mad reservations in The Oregon Grill.

One of the best restaurants here, definitely! 🙂

DSCN6774

I’ve got no words but “wow” when we arrived in the Oregon. It was beyond beautiful. And ideal place for a romantic date or special family gatherings.

DSCN6776

We were given a private room, made our special day more especial 🙂

DSCN6775

I chose to sit with the fireplace behind me so I would be warm all day 🙂

Nothing better than a warm bread and good butter to start our meal 🙂

Ordered Seafood Tower for my appetizer

Lobster, Shrimp and Oysters! <3

DSCN6788

Reminded me of my Dad.  He is such a seafood lover! I have always eaten whatever he tries to make me eat. Whatever he likes, I like. I’m like his mini me when it comes to food…and discipline! 🙂 This for you, Daddy! Hope I would get to share this tower with you someday 🙂

DSCN6789

Since I know there are big meals that are coming way for the next 2 days, I’ve decided to lay-low on my entree. I went for Chicken Madrilena.

I can’t entirely say that I wish I ordered something else, but this was definitely not for me.

11.30.12: Birthday Treat

Last birthday post: Went to Westfield Mall to treat myself. I don’t want my birthday week to just come and go because my family was not here. It sucks that my parents were not with me to give me a birthday hug nor my siblings to be surprisingly kind to me (lol). what sucks more is that, my grandmother is the one who greets me first during my birthday for 21 years. And now, everything just drastically changed in a matter of 9 months. No one can truly understand how it feels like, to be away, to leave and to miss out a full year. So much for my sappy words, so yeah.. just 3 more months.

11.29.12: Happy Birthday

This post has transpired almost a month ago. I know, I know.. I haven’t exactly been what I was supposed to be for the past few weeks. I even feel like I am still not myself up to this date. I will try my best to refresh my memory and share the itsy bitsy details about my birthday 🙂

IMG_1433

I was scheduled to work from 9-5 that day. Someone made an extra effort in making my morning extra beautiful by giving me a bouquet of peach long-stemmed roses while having the mushroom soup that he made 🙂 Way to jump start my birthday 🙂

My morning before work became extra beautiful when I talked to my whole family. Who still celebrated my birthday. Thanks to my Mom who cooked yummy food 🙂 Can’t wait to try them all once I get back! 🙂

Forever21plus1: Hello, Kitty!

11.26.12: First of First

Hello World! I am 22 years and 9 days old today. A lot of people has asked me if I feel old or different. One, I do not feel old. I do not know why but there’s something about embracing another year of celebrating life is something that gives me excitement. It does feel weird though every time I say “22” when someone asks for my age. Second, things has been very different for the past 9 months. Would you believe, I forgot about my 9th month a few days ago until today. #SMH

This week has been nothing but crazy busy. Christmas Shopping x Work has made me eager to just go away for a while and live life to the fullest for a couple of days. #sigh

Anywaysy, thank God for my week long birthday celebration. It has totally eased my mind off from all the stress and weirdness around me.

Thanksgiving 2012

11.23.12: First

To start off this blog, I would like to express (again) how embarrassed I am for putting this account on idle mode for a very long time! I am not yet done accomplishing all of the birthday shenanigans that I do every year. Per se, my birthday wishlist (ugh). It sucks you know? To not have enough time for the things that you want to do. My mind tells me to do this, and that… but time just won’t permit me. Anyway, here’s what happened during my first thanksgiving here in the States! 🙂 Turth be told, I don’t know what to expect (aside from the Turkey) nor how to celebrate this Holiday. It’s something new but all I know is, I have been thinking about my family all day and I am so grateful that I have another family here who makes me feel happy every day 🙂
