Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 Happy Saturday!!! We just welcomed spring yesterday and aaah I am so happy. It was a snowy first day of spring but whatevs, I know my beloved warmer days are here. Only a month left until I say I do and gahd I don’t think I can hide my excitement anymore!!! Today is the last Satruday that I will be stressing about working a double (not that I am complaining). I am looking forward to my weekend with A next week! It’s been almost 8 months since we had a full weekend together with nothing to worry about. For all the important things that we have to deal with for our careers, needless to say 2 weeks before our flight to Manila, I think we really deserve a weekend with just the two of us.
Only one week left…and I can embrace freedooooom!
The past 2 weeks has been really challenging for A and I. I think I am now at the point where in I feel like I have exceeded my limit when it comes to decision making…like I do not know if I have something hiding inside my head that can help alleviate the situation. Aaaaah… grown up problems are hard! haha
So now, let me share with you something that made me love being a bride-to-be more — the wedding registry! (more…)
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 It’s the third day of March, how has it been for you so far? For me, I am literally counting the days until winter is over (YESSS!!!) and our trip to Manila! I can’t believe that I can now say “we will be home in 27 days”. I feel like it was only yesterday when we booked our flights..and now I have to worry about packing SOON! Last month, I mentioned that my head’s a riot…well multiply that to 2 this month (and the month just started…yes!) I feel like I am still planning things even in my sleep which is crazy…beautiful. haha. There is no escaping….the wedding shenanigans and stress is crawling up to my sanity slowly.
So tonight I want keep it light…post something simple but worthy. Cause seriously, I feel like I’ve been thinking way toooo much that it’s almost like my head is going to explode any minute.
I am going to start this entry by saying “happy almost 1st birthday, love!”
When I say that A is the perfect man for me, I mean it. I sometimes think that he is a pdychic or something because he has never failed to give me the perfect present. (Or maybe I am just that easy to please….which is actually a fact)
I noticed that every year I have a brand that I go crazy about. Like unconsciously or without even trying so hard, I tend to consider that brand when buying stuff. I am so into it.
08.11.2014: Welcoming Change
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 Happy hump day! I woke up today with a weird feeling about today. I’ve been telling A how we have to embrace change if we want to grow. Although it hurts to move on from some of the things that we learned to appreciate, we have to leave room for better and bigger things. So I told myself that I can’t have a weird mood all day, so I claimed that we will receive good news before the day ends, and we did!!! A and I just looked at each other with utter amazement after that phone call that we received 5 min before we left our apartment. It’s a blessing right in front of our face, and all I can say is…great things happen those who believe in Him 🙂
I love how this week started, each of us received good news and boy are we excited!!! So anyway, here’s a post that will surely help me stay warm tonight. Cause you know….thinking about summer helps me forget about the cold weather…even for just a while 😉
aside from wearing light clothes….
I also miss the abundance of fresh produce during summer. (more…)
Hello, dolls!!!! 🙂 I am very very excited to share with you our trip to Thailand. I can’t believe that it has been 5 months already…and boy do I miss it! Last year, A and I were introduced to “family trips”. After our trip to Bangkok, I don’t think I can no longer say “my family and I with A” because A is now part of the family, and vice versa. Whether it be it with our family in the Philippines, or here in the US, we are all considered as one family now. So anyway, I am very happy that I am now sharing my first Bangkok post 🙂
To be in another country with A and our family is probably one of the best blessings that I received last year
One of the best trips ever!!! Especially because it was for the best Dad who turned 50 last year! 🙂
We had an early flight to Bangkok. Getting 8 people to wake up early and be ready before 7Am is not easy. So after dressing up, we went straight to the airport.
No breakfast for us!!! Everyone was excited and in a hurry because we did not want to miss our flight. We were so ready to have our first meal of the day after checking in our luggage. (more…)
12.25.14: Merry Chirstmas
Hello, dolls! Hello, Tuesday. 3 days has passed since we welcomed February and I can already see a million posts on Facebook and Instagram about Valentine’s day (most of them are the usual highschool-ish posts about being single on Vday #ugh). So anyway, Valentine’s is something I do not really forward to every year. After being disappointed when I was still in high school…cause you know?HS Valentine’s is all about flowers and chocolates — and I am not big on receiving flowers if it’s not from my Dad so yeaaap — and oh no good Vday dates until A came in my life so yeah…Valentine’s was not in my zone for a long time. As far as I’m concerned, Valtnine’s is for my Dad and I.
So I am ALMOST done with my Holiday diary. I am pretty happy with my blogging last month because I was able to accomplish 90% of the posts that I wanted to share. This month I can finally write about our Bangkok trip which I am really excited about! 🙂
What a beautiful sight to wake up to on Christmas morning! 🙂
One of the 3 Christmas trees in the house. Really gorgeous and perfect because of the beach themed colors and ornaments!
Before I officially wrap up my Christmas posts, let me share with you our lovely Christmas dinner! 🙂 (more…)
07.20.14: Summer’s yummy colors
Hello, dolls!!! Happy Sunday! 🙂 Today has been lovely — A and I were able to go to church early in the morning, have a sumptuous lunch together, and I was able to spend the afternoon with a friend. It’s days like this when I appreciate the time that I get for myself, with all the crazy things that I have to do, it feels like a reward lately. So A and I were sick for the past week, I guess I have to get used to being sick during the first week of January now because I can see that my body hates the cold weather that even 3 layers of clothing won’t suffice.
So anyway, here’s the continuation of my blog post about our NYC trip over the summer. http://riannagalvez.wordpress.com/2015/01/10/nyc-jeepney/
Growing up, I never thought I will love wearing skirts. My family can attest that I used to be a jeans and sneakers kind of girl —- cause I used to be really concious about my legs. Now, I dislike wearing jeans. And even when it’s really cold out, I would prefer to wear a skirt with tights underneath. #TiisGanda as we say it in the Philippines!
Let me start my post with some yummy macarons. My ultimate favorite treat!
Give me macarons and I’ll love you forever. (more…)
10.03.14: The “no idea” moments
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 I can’t believe that I am VERY close to seeing my family again!! In less than a week I will be flying back to MNL (OMG!!) I can’t hide my excitement! My family and I planned so much for my homecoming and I must say, there will be a lot of plane rides for A and I for our upcoming 3 week vacation. It’s pretty similar to what happened last year when A came to the Philippines to visit me — a lot of cooking, eating, and traveling. Maybe I waited a little bit too long to post our Hong Kong trip, or maybe not. Its nice to look back and remember all the things that we did during our week long adventure at a place that he’s been wanting to visit since…ever.
Hong Kong has always been a shopping trip for me until A and I went. We did so many different things that I wouldn’t normally put in my itinerary.
One of which is to take an hour and a half shuttle ride going to Repulse Bay and see a different side of Hong Kong..
03.11.14: Picture Perfect Kind of Day
Hello, dolls!!! I am so ecstatic right now, April is just amazing to me. First and foremost, A and I are just 12 days away from celebrating our second year together and I just can’t sit here and hide my excitement cause I know it is going to be ah-mah-zing! Second, I am only a few months away from hugging my family again!!! I can’t wait to travel with them again and be crazy with the sibs again. Lastly, I just accomplished something for school yesterday!! It really is happening!! One of the things that I promised myself when I got into Culinary school is to study abroad — and I am finally a sheer month away from crossing that off my list! 🙂
Read my post about our awesome lunch in Duke’s Grocery here – http://riannagalvez.wordpress.com/2014/04/07/washington-dc-dukes-grocery/
It’s been a while since my last outfit post. I mean, let’s face it friends, I am not too good at it. LOL
But yeah, I will tryyyyy my very best to make each post worthwhile.
If there is anything that I can’t give up from my closet, that would be this H&M jacket.
I remember it as my first splurge after being here for only a week 2 years ago. I just can’t help it, the soft pink color and the gold buttons (I have this thing about gold buttons).
03.10.2014 – Of getting things done
Hello, dolls!! 🙂 Happy #TBT day!! My favorite day to blog cause I have a valid excuse to post entries that are ages ago. Though, this one’s not a month old (yet) I think it’s perfect cause this happened on a Thursday a couple of weeks ago. I guess for now, this is the best that I can do when it comes to posting something “recent”.
I love productive days like this one, we were literally out all day around the city accomplishing stuff — and I loved every minute of it! What’s more awesome about that day was how we spent the entire day with love and end it with great food…and drinks! 🙂
Beautiful day with an amazing date
I am not going into the details of what happened before our afternoon in Inner Harbor, but let’s just say…we accomplished 4 big things prior to that. 😉
Oh hello there
01.18.2014: Meaningful Saturdays
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 I can’t believe it’s already Sunday (insert 1 million exclamation points here). Time is moving waaaay too fast. For the past week I’ve been really busy making each day special for my family and the people that I love. You see, nowadays, I find more gratification in making my family’s day extra special than to do the things that I love…or used to love.
Before, I would spend my weekends hanging/dining our with friends, not that I do not like doing this anymore…but it’s just that, I feel like Saturday nights are more fun when you spend it with the people who truly make you happy.I am so over the jejecrowd here, if I want to have some drinks and go “clubbing” I can just wait for another week (or 2 since I will be in MD on a Monday) and be my crazy self there and not sacrifice time for my family.
#throwback: Cause I am excited and not sad this time

Saturday for us is all about “the” dinner. We can do whatever we want in the morning, but we always have to eat dinner together.

12.22.13: Of hosting dinners
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 We are only 3 days away from Valentine’s day and I am so excited!! I know most of you are looking forward on spending that lovely day with your special someone wink wink. I, on the other hand, is so thrilled to be with my favorite Vday dates — my parents!! My Dad has always made it special for me since..ever. I am planning to do something that I am good at for them this coming Friday…and I can’t wait to share it on this blog, hopefully SOON and not 3 months late.
For MZATC’s annual Christmas dinner, we had a “Coachella themed” party. Since we couldn’t all go to California, we brought Coachella to us…anyway we are just up for the dressing up part if ever we can so whatevs lol.I like themed dinners! It makes it easier for me to come up with a menu and cook more than 2 dishes.A themed dinner will not be complete without dressing the part, that’s the second best thing about it — I get to dress up!. I’ve been crazy about hosting parties lately, and this is just one of the many rooftop parties that I will be sharing on this blog 🙂
#throwback: Cause it’ll be like this again. Wonderful memories in Charm City

10.24.13: The greatest paycheck is not money
Hello dolls!!! 🙂 Happy #tbt day!! I am really hesitant if I should post an entry today, cause I feel like I’ve hit my limit when it comes to updating my social network accounts.Yup, 1 twit, a #tbt on Instagram, and an outfit post on Lookbook seems a lot to me now! Beofre I make your eyebrows raise with my weirdness, here I am, writing an entry cause I need to organize the clutter on my desktop. It’s that time of the month again, where in I feel uneasy about the huge mess that I’ve created on my hard drive. So you know how I try to make my posts “appropriate” with how I am feeling, or my silly fun life? Well I think this one hits the #tbt category, probably my favorite cause it gives me an excuse to post all the photos I “forgot” to upload.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the exciting feeling of flying again. How soon it is going to happen and how amazing things will be. I talk to myself…just like this…so I can forget that at the other side there is still loneliness.

All over again – http://riannagalvez.wordpress.com/2012/03/15/see-you-soon-manila/
10 days after A left MNL, I had the opportunity to see the person who helped me make things “happen” and be with the people who made my journey almost a year ago extra exciting.
11.29.2013: Birthday lunch and things that made me smile
Hello, dolls!!! This is my 300th post!!! Wow!! I can’t believe that I actually made this “riannagalvez.wordpress.com” happen! 🙂 From a “drama queen” who just needed an outlet for her dark moments to a “fun loving lady who loves life”.The transition of this blog has been serious some sort and I am just grateful to everyone who has graciously clicked the follow button, and who has been continuously reading my entries!
300 posts and I feel like I am still a newbie. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to beautifying my page. — A little segue, does anyone know how to do that “read more” thingy here on wordpress? You know that link in the middle of each entry that lets the reader read the full length of the blog! This is so shameless…but yeah, sometimes WordPress plays tricks on me by making me feel sttttttttu.. yeah
Anyway, I told you I have something not too big for my 300th post. And since I love #throwbacks too much, I am going to give you a bit (or maybe more) of a throwback for the next couple of dates. I chose a couple of links that is going to be nice to look back to.. entries that will tickle that “inspiration” bone or just memories that I love <3 Some posts made me smile and say “aww”, cringe and just want to delete some photos, but mostly be reminded of how beautiful life is and how grateful I should be 🙂
Since this is an entry about my 23rd birthday, I will give you a little throwback of my 21st and 22nd! 🙂

A few days before my birthday, Alyza surprised me with a bag of “ramen happiness” from Ryu Ramen.
She drove all the way to my house and braved the traffic in Manila. This has got to be one of the sweetest things a friend has ever done to me 🙂
Little Miss Tea Lover <3
Hello, dolls!! 🙂 It’s been a while since my last outfit entry. On account of me being here, I still have my very reliable sister to take my photos, so we are going to abuse the 30 days that I have left and take as many photos that we can lol. I’ve noticed that I’ve been pretty lazy on doing so, you know… standing in front of the camera and hope that something magical happens so I will look nice in photos (haaaa). But really, I am just too shy to pose when I know someone is looking at me! But as what most people tell me, “don’t put your outfit to waste”.
Hopefully, in the next couple months I will be able to post more outfit shots. And publish shameless style related posts.
You know…cause I like to share haha
09.28.2013: Her new bestfriend.
Hey,sweets!! 🙂 Here is my last entry for our second day in Palawan.Only a couple of albums and this account will be up to date in no time!!! 🙂 So since I am not really that good with “outfit posts” this is going to be short. I hope the photos will deliver and make this post worth your time 🙂
P.S. To everyone who has been viewing my Palawan entries, thank you!!! I am trying to make it easy for you guys to navigate through my old posts.. and so far I’ve been working on classifying them. So just click any link at your right under the category tab and see what I have in store for you 🙂
Some lovin’ before we went out for dinner <3
I did not get the floor length memo.
09.27.13: ….and that’s a wrap
I can’t think of a better intro than this.
I am lost in translation. My head is seriously going to burst any minute now. and I wish….I wish people can be more respectful and selfless.
I have reached my boiling point, and you know how I hate to turn this blog into a drama-fest, BUT when you give your all and spend n days working on things THE LAST MINUTE, and make everything perfect, it sucks when someone makes you feel like you did not do enough. It sucks when the work that you’ve done is not being reciprocated well…especially when the only thing that you asked for is not even going to cost them a dime. I worked like a machine for days while being sick, and sacrificed time for my future. I think I have every right to lose my temper. I am physically and mentally exhausted, is it too much to ask for some ME time?
Anyway, before I suck the life out of this blog…here is my last entry for our first day in Palawan (yaaaay).I did it!!! So here’s a food x fashion post! A little bit of both 🙂
Kinilaw na Tanigue (Mackerel Ceviche)
I love kinilaw/ceviche! I grew up eating kinilaw with my Dad. I know A would love this, and I am glad he did!!!! The fish was so fresh…yumms!
I forgot the cocktail that we ordered..but I think it was weng-weng cause they can’t do sex-on-the-beach.
A had Jack and Coke. I remember him not really liking it.
The drinks were okay…I had better.
