10.06.14: Of ramen and tea
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 Hello, Vancouver!! Aaah I can’t believe that this is really happening!! After having an amazing and busy weekend with A,we are now on our way to Manila. As what A said “it is our most memorable trip to Manila”. It is definitely a trip of a lifetime because it will be the first time that our families will be together. Anyway, we have less than an hour left here in Vancouver until our plane leaves for Manila, hopefully that will be enough time for me to publish this one before all the craziness begin when we arrive home.
Today, we experienced a couple of firsts together. It’s our first time to travel to Manila together (this is A’s third time in MNL). Also, our first time to fly out of JFK. Thank God that our flag carried, Philippine Airlines, started flying to Manila from New York 2 weeks ago! We were very excited about this when they broke the news last year, no more loooong layovers, exhausting connecting flights, and worrying about our baggage!
Oh,we have so much love for New York! So let me share with you A’s birthday celebration in New York last year 🙂
One of the things that I love about A is how it’s not very hard to put a smile on his face.
He appreciates everything even the simplest form of gesture.
So what better way to make my birthday boy happy? A trip to New York to eat ramen 🙂 Continue reading “New York Diaries: Ivan Ramen”
08.18.2014: Forever Young
Hello, sweets!! 🙂 Happy Monday <3 We are now at the last stretch of February and ahh I feel like I still have a lot of things to do, even though A already told me that I knocked off a lot of things on my list for this month. I just feel weird accomplishing things on my computer..you know? Like most of my meetings, transactions, and “canvassing” are done through the internet. Maybe I am yearning for that “hands on” feeling…like how I used to do whenever I am organizing some event or dinner. Being far away and planning a wedding at the other side of the world is challenging! I often second guess my decisions or put them on hold until April. It’s crazy but yeah…I can’t complain though because I am loving every minute of being busy.
Lucky for me, I have a fiance who knows what to do to keep my sanity intact. He knows exactly what to do..and that is to take me on an adventure. Our adventures are mostly for food. It also doesn’t have to be extreme, extravagant, or extraordinary.. every new thing that comes our way is an adventure for us.
So about a week before I left for the Philippines last year, A and I had the opportunity to go to Hershey Park.
It was my second time at Hershey Park,my first with A, and our first time to go to a theme park together so I was very excited that day.
Check my photodiary about my first trip to Hershey Park here https://riannagalvez.com/2012/06/17/hershey-park-2012/

Cause I love anything Greek way too much
Hello, sweets!! Guess what?? We had the Friday night off again!! I can’t help but find it funny because a couple of days ago I was just gushing about our Friday date night back in Summer…and now we were able to do it again this Fall. YAY! Last night was ahmaaahzing! It was not like our Woodberry date night but A gave me new memories to cherish. what we did is somewhat related to what I will be talking about in a while…GREEK! I am so happy that I am here for the Greek Festival this year, and that we were able to go and eat delicious Greek food…..and have fun with our friends after! I couldn’t think of any other way to celebrate our Fall Friday Date Night than how we spent it last night.
I compiled all the Greek related photos that I have on my computer to make a decent Greek related post. A couple of days ago, I told A and his Mom that I am happy that they celebrate a lot of traditions. That we always have something to look forward to and feel grateful for each day.
The Greek Life is more than just lemons, feta cheese, and olive oil. I think one of the reasons why I am very excited to marry A is because his values are the same as mine.
To start this entry…. I will talk about me! HAHA
So I finally got a haircut after 4 months of being back here in Baltimore. I am always afraid to go for a trim (even though mah girl LC says that we should !) I’ve had my fair share of annoying “my hair is way tooo short moments” so yeaaap, it usally takes me a while to go back. haha
Anyway, so I went to the salon a couple of hours before our drive to New Jersey, and after an hour of hair treatment and a long chat with the hairdresser, I did not notice time and I was already outside the salon so no blow dry for me!! Haha The lady did not want to let me leave with wet hair so she did this for me! #LoveIt Continue reading “The Greek Life”
05.12.14: Mother’s Day x Day of A Mother
Hello, sweets! 🙂 Hello, NJ! I have an extended “weekend” this week and I couldn’t be any happier that I spent it with great friends and my family here in Baltimore. I am blogging from New Jersey again YAY! I think it’s perfect that I write something about New Jersey and how we usually spend our “weekends” here. I am blessed that A’s family never made me feel like I am an outsider, they’ve welcomed me with love and opened their 2 homes to me when A and I started dating. I still remember the first time we took a trip to New Jersey, I did not want to go back to Baltimore. Going to New Jersey is our little piece of vacation in the middle of our crazy work life.
I love how the house in NJ makes me feel like I am not too away from home.
Anyway, I will be sharing one of the celebrations that we looked forward to this year
I enjoy baking, it’s my little break from what I normally do.I graduated with a degree in Culinary, so I have no formal training when it comes to baking though our patisserie and bread baking class helped me understand it. And at work, I am assigned on the hot station. That’s why baking excites me, especially that I am a big lover of desserts.
When I got back from my home country a couple of months ago, one of A’s surprises for me is Momofuku Milk Bar’s Cookbook! It made me so happy because now I can make some of their cookies at home.
