Valentine’s Date in Washington DC

07.11.2013: First and Real

Hi dolls!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Especially to the awesome readers who never fail to make me smile every day ๐Ÿ™‚ I know I really suck at the “consistency” part when it comes to updating this blog.So as I drown myself in embarrassment for leaving this page on idle mode. I hope you all had an awesome love month! Cause I sure did!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

We started our day by waiting for almost 2 hours in the city for a dentist’s appointment. We visited this Peruvian restaurant to kill time and have lunch. For less than $10, it was so worth it! The serving was very generous that I only ate a third of the food that I had. Boo :))

It was a bit late in my clock to go to DC. But having the most awesomeย chorvs,ย he still insisted in going to one of the best places that we can ever be for my first and real VDay date.

The major thing that we sacrifice for the career that we love is time. Time for our loved ones and ourselves. Weย sacrificeย the best days of the year just to make families, couples, friends, individuals, professionals and everyone else who loves food happy. It’s a blessing to be part of this industry, a lifetime commitment that I will always uphold in my life.

Hahaha lol

Valentine’s Day has always been a thing about my Dad and the women in his life. My Mom, my sister and I. Every year we would get the loveliest bouquets from him with a sweet letter and chocolates. This year, again, was different. Not a single flower nor a bar of chocolate from the Dad. Only a heartwarming text message from him that made me smile while I was working. Enough to make me feel like I am not too far from him. My Dad will always be my favorite Valentine. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have never really had a decent Valentine’s day. No romantic dinner, no surprises and no dressing up. It has always been a family thing until this past month.

I am so lucky to have the most perfect VDay date with the most awesome person.

One thing that we do not miss when in DC, is to visit the African-American Art Museum for some scavenger hunt! Something that I really really love to do! ๐Ÿ™‚

Decided to have a new “thing” that we can enjoy doing together, collect pins or prices from our scavenger hunts!!! ย Yaaaay! ๐Ÿ™‚ *nerd mode on*

Bubble tea after our museum trip. Something that we never fail to do every time. Haha ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. Wore the super soft and awesome gloves that my Sissy sent me for my birthday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Tried Red Velvet’s cupcakes! Perfect for our Valentine’s week!

We messed up the cupcakes big time ๐Ÿ™ but nonetheless we still enjoyed them!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Flavors that we got:ย Southern Belle aka Red Velvet , Cookies and Cream , Peanut butter Cup, Carrot Cake , Summertime (our fave!) , flourless chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and chocolate shavings (their featured cupcake for Valentine’s Day)

I loved theirย frosting’s! I’m aย frostingย freak, I can eat a tablespoon of it just because haha. Anyway, I can’t help but compare RV’ from DC Cupcakes. I would still go for Georgetown any time of the day ๐Ÿ™‚

Most girls got flowers during Valentine’s. I got 6 huge red heart balloons, the most awesome thing a guy could ever give me. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love balloons!!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Asian Snacks for the Asian girl! ๐Ÿ˜›

Rockville,Maryland Eats: Ren’s Ramen

02.09.13: Everyday is Valentine’s day

The shallow me has been paying my world a visit more than the usual lately. It’s been telling me that everything will change soon. But, my happy and mature self has been telling me to pay no mind cause life just keeps on unfolding  beautiful things right before my eyes during the least times that I expect them. I am anxious and excited at the same time. Summer 2013 will be nothing but a fun ride. I am excited to see my family after more than a year, and make each day count more and more. I am also excited about the life ahead of me. I feel like my life is planned and unplanned at the same time that all I can think about is how awesome it would be in 2014. The year has just started, and I am already excited about next year,is that even acceptable in anybody’s book? Maybe yes, all I know is.. I am blessed ๐Ÿ™‚

I can’t remember the last time that A and I had a decent Friday schedule. After working my morning shift, the both of us hurriedly changed at work and drove to Rockville.

I asked A to watch Ramen Girl with me. Watching one of my favorite movies with my boyfriend is my kind of relaxing date night! We probably skipped a few scenes just because he was only interested about ramen, but it was enough for him to google map the word “Ramen” and only one restaurant showed up…

Ren’s Ramen.

A hole in the wall restaurant that brought joy in our hearts and delight in our tummies. All I can think about is how exceptional everything was. It felt like a dream…my mouth was probably dreaming while savoring the ramen.. oh God.

Yakisoba will always be a favorite of mine. I never understood my Mom when she would never miss in ordering out Yakisoba when we are in a Japanese restaurant. Until one day, I craved for it and ordered Yakisoba with a friend one lunch date way back during my Culinary days.

RR’s yakisoba jump-started our date night. It was not too salty and the flavors were just right. YUM!

I ordered one of their specials Chanpon Men.

This was just too perfect for me! Seafood with lots of veggies flavored with sesame oil. Ren’s Ramen is a sapporo style ramen house. The noodles were to die for!

Perfectly cooked gyoza for our appetizer.

Since it was a breezy Friday date night, I decided to go for a not-so-girly outfit. Wore this top from Gap that my sister sent me! Too perfect for the cold weather ๐Ÿ™‚

Used black accessories to give more edge to my plain winter top/dress

I am so in to self shots lately. Haha #ForgiveMe

Happy girl,

Sweet is an understatement.

Valentine’s for me is a family day.ย  Valentine’s wouldn’t be “Valentine’s” if I don’t get to eat out with them. My Dad and my sister are the usual Vday givers. Fort his year, here are the things that they did.

Baked Red Velvet Cupcakes ๐Ÿ™‚

Would you believe that it was my first time to actually decorate my cupcakes with picture-worthyย frosting? I’ve always sucked at decorating pastries! I don’t know why but my ideas just couldn’t connect with my hands beautifully! =))) I was VERY VERY VERY elated when I was finally able to do this! I couldn’t let the joyous moment pass without taking photos! Haha ๐Ÿ™‚

Daddy’s card for Mama ๐Ÿ™‚ How cute is my Dad? Haha ๐Ÿ™‚

c/o Mama

I’ll be Daddy’s baby forever!!! <3 ๐Ÿ™‚

Long-stemmed roses ๐Ÿ™‚

c/o Mama

3 bouquets of roses for his 3 ladies ๐Ÿ™‚ <3

Yellow bouquet for my Mom and pink bouquets for my Sissy and I! ๐Ÿ™‚

And yeah…he calls himself COBRA!! ๐Ÿ˜ :))))))))

I woke up that day with flowers and red balloons on our dining table! My Dad made sure that he would accomplish everything before we all wake up! ๐Ÿ™‚ <3 ย I want my Dad to surprise me on Valentine’s day FOREVER! Him only. Just him would be enough! :)) Hahaha

My Dad is the BEST when it comes to surprises! He really knows how to get into someone’s heart! No wonder he is very blessed! He has the most generous heart that I know and he never fails to make everyone around him smile!

My Sister slept really late for this! <3 ๐Ÿ™‚

This made our Parents hearts really happy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Since it was the day of LOVE, I wore my “Amour” ring during lunch! ๐Ÿ™‚

Spread the LOVE!
