09.12.14: Great food makes a trip
Hello, dolls!!! Happy hump day 😉 Aaah I can’t believe we only have less than 3 weeks left until we officially start our wedding journey. 2 Mondays left to accomplish everything that we need to do before our departure…oh the excitement of knowing that I will have a month filled with adventures and LOVE!!! <3
Looking at photos from our trip in Asia 6 months ago pumps me up more. I can’t wait to be with my family again and eat delicious food with A!!! One of our food adventures in Manila last year, and definitely one of my favorites is our trip to Bulacan to finally try my friend Karen’s baby… Sirius Espresso.
I am always happy to see my friends become successful. As soon as I found out that Karen opened a cafe, I wanted to hop on the next flight back home and try all the delicious things that she is whipping up.
I do not mind driving all the way to Bulacan just to try her food! Anyway, Bulacan is not that far from us. It only took us less than minutes to get to her restaurant without traffic…awesome! Continue reading “Sirius Espresso”
08.06.14: Annapolis Run
Hello, dolls!!! Happy #ThrowbackThursday —- the day when it’s (quite) acceptable for me to post my overdue entries.
We are at the hype of winter. It has been snowing every other day and so far I’ve been going out with at least 4 layers of clothing. I have a love-hate relationship with March. I want it to end soon because of the cold weather, but on the other hand I kind of want it to slow down because I NEED to accomplish a lot of things this month. I feel bad for A because I am a riot right now, I find myself talking about different topics at once, and doing numerous things everyday that we can’t keep to each other anymore — or at least that’s how I feel.
Oh time…please be good to me.
With all the craziness that’s been happening in our lives now. A and I would see to it that we make time to just sit down, eat, and not worry about anything. We also make sure that we see friends once in a while.
Our hungry stomachs brought us to Annapolis, since we were already going to be at the area we called Frances so we can all have lunch together with out little egg tart. Continue reading “49 West”
Hello, dolls! 🙂 Happy Weekend!! We are now on day 17 of 2015, how has your year been so far? I wonder if I can ever feel that time is moving normally, like I am not chasing after it. For the past year, a lot of great things happened that kind of wish that 2014 could be longer…you know? Like…it’s too good to end.
I like how the holidays are at the end of the year. I feel like we are being rewarded for all the hard work that we did, love and kindness that we gave, and sacrifices that we made. And at the same time, be blessed with His presence and the realization that He is with us throughout the year. Cause honestly, nothing can make us feel better than the faith that we have for Him within us.
My Christmas Eve was beautiful. We woke up in New York, talked to my family in MNL during the day, and spent the holiday with our family here in New Jersey.
This was the second time I’ve spent Christmas away from my family. But you know what’s amazing? God blessed me with another family that I can be with..without even asking for it, He gave me A and his family. Continue reading “Christmas Eve Menu Ideas: Seafood and Italian Food”
12.01.14: Il Mio Amore
Hello, dolls!!! 🙂 Merry Christmas!!!!! I am a bit late but I know that the spirit of Christmas is still alive in every part of us. We are only a few days away from welcoming 2015 and as my way of thanking you all my dear readers, I will post 2 special entries before the end of the year.
The past 2 months have been very eventful, and I can only thank my big guy up there for all the blessings that I have received. I may be away from my family for all the joyous moments that happened in my life, but He never failed to make me feel their presence in all different ways. One of the biggest blessings that he gave me is A —- my constant source of happiness.
Before we move on…read about my previous posts about my 24th birthday
Since our November and December are already planned out for work and special events, we couldn’t really go somewhere out of Baltimore for my birthday. Despite of that, A still managed to make me feel like we are away by taking me to a place that he knows I love.
It was love, at first sight, I must say when A took me to Charles Street for lunch. I told him that the area is unique and that it makes me feel like I am away from Baltimore. It must be the hill like road or the beautiful buildings and unique looking shops.
I really appreciate it when A plans our date. He is really great in choosing the perfect place to take me to.
For my birthday, he chose this 20 year old Italian Restaurant. Sotto Sopra
It was one of our best dinners to date! Continue reading “Baltimore Eats: Sotto Sopra”
Hello, sweets!!! 🙂 5 days until Christmas….are you all ready?? 🙂 Aaaah I can’t wait for my super long weekend (literally!) A much deserved break. I wish my family is here cause I know it would be perfect to spend my free time with them. A lot of things can remind us about Christmas, for me I can think of 5 right off the top of my head. One of which is food, and I swear, as we draw closer to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I am already starting to get worried about my game plan because I know it will be non-stop eating for me!!!!
Summer is the perfect time for my smoothies. Everyone who is close to me knows that I could drink a 12oz smoothie in just seconds!
I am very particular with the smoothies that I drink. I only like fresh fruits and natural sweetener.
This summer, I was able to experiment with some of my favorite fruits and beat the heart with a nice homemade healthy cold smoothie!
And of course, my trusty pink blender was there to help!

It’s never too late to have a new BFF!
Hello, sweets!!! 🙂 I can’t believe we are almost halfway through my birthday month!(time, you need to slowdown!!!). November is always sweet to me, even though I do not try to make it extra amazing, blessings come pouring to remind me of how beautiful life is (and that turning a year old is not too bad!).I am not the only one who looks forward to November (well….duhh) what makes it even more special now is that one of my best friends birthday is also in November!
There are times where I feel like I am not being a good friend. Times that make me realize that being away could be challenging in every way. Recently it would take me up to more than a day to get back to messages from my friends, and it makes me feel horrible (of course!) because it shouldn’t be that way. Last night I felt overwhelmed about everything that I NEED to do in the next couple of months, all I wish right now is to have TIME to make them all happen.
Days like this makes me miss having my girlfriends close to me. I wish I could just give them a call right now and meet up an hour after.
I miss having lunch dates with Alyza, I wish I was home for her birthday to celebrate our birthday month together, just like last year! But the least thing that I can do for the person who made being in a LDR relationship bearable for me for 10 months is to write an entry here on my blog. Hello, dolls!! Hello, OCTOBER! Wow,where did September go??? Everytime I blog I get reminded of how time is moving so fast, or am I just getting older so I feel that way?I know I have never been so good about updating this blog, and I say it all the time that it almost feels like I am being scolded by my Chinese teacher back in high school for reading an English book in class (okay, I am probably not making any sense now). No more one year old entries, unless it’s a major TBT that I’ve been holding onto. Since it’s the beginning of October, and we only have 92 days until we say hello to a new year, I want to work on as many entries that I can and read about this year with a big smile on my face.
I love Mexican food, and I keep on thinking when I started loving it. Growing up in Manila, we did not have a lot of Mexican restaurants until late 2000, but nachos and tacos are favorite snacks in the Philippines, no remarkable places that serve burritos or chmichangas. I used to go to Taco Bell when I was a kid and when I lived in Cebu for a couple of months, going to this Mexican place 15 minutes away from my apartment was the best treat that I can give myself every week.
I always get excited about Cinco De Mayo, I embrace the celebration like I’m a Mexican! The thought of having Mexcian food all day is heaven to me. Lucky for me, A gave me a good Cinco De Mayo by letting me eat Mexican food all day! 😉

February 2014: Of cooking for the family
Hello, dolls!! 🙂 I can’t believe that I will be home in less than 2 weeks!!! Before I left to go back here in Baltimore, I had decided that I will try to cook everyday. I know there will be some factors that will hinder me from doing this, so I added the word “try” — I have a tendency of over beating myself when it comes to cooking so I had to play it a bit safe for my sanity. So I DID, I did cook everyday for the month of February, I DID IT!
One of the things that I always do before cooking something at home is to check what we have available.
It’s always fun exciting for me to come up with something on the spot and I often see it as a “fun self challenge”.
My Dad and I were hanging out on our rooftop one day, and I decided to whip up something quick for him for his afternoon snack — Filipinos eat 5 meals a day so yeaaap.
All of these ingredients that I have on my board are in our fridge.I love impressing my Dad with delish left over meals.

Hello, dolls!! 🙂 It’s officially spring, my favorite season!! It’s crazy how the nicer weather comes with spring flu virus. Yup, I caught it! I’ve been sneezing and sniffing since yesterday and boy is it hard to be sick when you are alone. All I really want to do now is to cuddle with my Mom.I always find myself wanting to be snuggled up in bed with her when I’m sick. She is soooo soft and her arms and legs are “pillow like” lol.
So today I am going to make you hungry. My afternoons here in Baltimore are different — no rooftop, no afternoon cooking for the family, just me time usually. In the midst of my crazy fast paced life, I can’t help but be excited for my Dad’s 50th birthday!!! I can already smell home and feel the warmth of being surrounded by my family. Don’t get me wrong, I love it here! I am loving every minute of it and I wouldn’t have my life any other way BUT home is home.
Let me share with you some of the things that I cooked for my family, especially my parents, before I left MNL 🙂
Milk Shake x Grilled Cheese Afternoon
Aside from me missing home, today is “National Siblings Day” so it is just perfect to write something about the awesome moments that we’ve had with the food that I made form our kitchen 🙂
Come tooooo Mommmah
BACON x tomato x cheddar cheese
Hungry yet? I HAVE MORE!
